One reason Pal's hamburgers are so damn good is that, while they don't cook to order a la Five Guys or Smashburger, they transfer the hamburger patties straight from the grill to a vat of au jus that's kept at 190 degrees. Then they assemble the burgers as they're ordered. So the hamburger meat picks up all the flavor of the au jus.
PS, that fry seasoning is just straight Lawry's. What makes the fries so good is that they're fried in vegetable shortening.
I've Rented and owned......
If renting....reserve early !! RV's can be hard to find on popular weekends. Also the campgrounds around the speedway are filling up too I've heard.
Gas is cheap right now.....and looks to stay cheap, so that will hopefully help if you driving a long way. Renting from a private party is the way to go in my opinion if you can find one. The RV's tend to have all the extras.....where as places like 1-800-rentrvs are stripped down models.
I'm uncertain whether or not it remains true, but when Cattails was first built, it was the only PGA-rated course in the Tri-Cities area. I learned this while working for a temp agency the summer after my freshman year at VT, laying sod for the golf course and nearly dying of heat stroke.

The biggest positive I can think of out of this deal is that I no longer have to correct myself when I refer to the "LA ...um...St. Louis Rams". Now if we can just get the Cardinals to move back to St. Louis and the Colts move back to Baltimore, I think it would go a long way toward clearing up how I talk about NFL teams. Oh, and change the Texans name to the Oilers and change their colors to baby blue and red, while you're at it.
Do they still have the giant Indian with the loincloth that flies up in the slightest breeze? I always imagined him throwing down with the giant evil Pal's statue on Lynn Garden Drive for unquestioned supremacy of the Tri-Cities area.

What I think he means also, is practicing against a spread offense will give Foster the tools to identify weaknesses vs spread offenses AND the offensive coach can talk about how he analyses Bud's defense and how he would attack it.

Was looking around at this too. Have a buddy that has family in Bristol, VA, so he spends some time down that way. These are his recommendations:
Old Farm is a definite no. Virginian I could probably get you on.
Clear Creek is one of my least favorite courses in the area. The Tri-cities region is kind of its own little golf mecha. You will have wonderful smokey mtn views on pretty much every course and minimal housing.
Favorites:
Virginian (Bristol, VA) - private, mountainous, perfect conditions
Country Club of Bristol (Bristol, TN) - newly public, excellent course, interesting layout / holes
Crockett's Ridge (Kingsport, TN) - public, long, pretty, fast. Built into the mountains.
Graysburg Hills (Johnson City, TN) - semi-private, really beautiful course, longest on the list and one of the nicest.
TriCities Golf Club (Bristol) - public, 27 holes, worst conditioned, i play it for free, but its always in good condition.
Warrior's Path (Kingsport) - public park course, interesting holes, lake views, great condition, first place I ever shot below par.
Cattails at Meadowview (Kingsport) - public, 2 completely different nines. front is links, back is mountains
Clear Creek (Bristol, VA) - public, weird and quirky, decent conditions, built into the mountains
Ridges Golf Course (Johnson City) - decent course, conditions are nice, don't get out to many JC courses.
The Crossings (Johnson City) - has the higher end feel, full links style course and wind always seems to blow. pretty conditions, not my style, but is always highly ranked for the region.
For the last 1-2 years I have thought that 2016 would be a really good year for us.
Now I am not so sure. Hopefully we have a great spring and build off of that.
Tri-Cities Regional is the closest, Asheville's about an hour away, Charlotte is like 2.5-3 hours (I think)
Louisville feels like the "new Miami". They are always over valued and under perform.
