Just a guess (or maybe just really wishful thinking) but I would say Dickerson would be a candidate to meet with the coaching staff soon after the dead period ends. One last push to try and convince him to consider the good guys.

I'm not a fan of teams holding cities and their elected leaders hostage to get new stadiums and then keep any money the stadium makes for themselves. There are only a handful of teams that we think will never move and only one we know will never move for any reason, Green Bay.

So dead period end on the 14th (and the billion dollar powerball is drawn, coincidence?), who gets the first in home visit from Fuente?

Tri-Cities Airport. I used to fly in there from Central FL on Allegiant for $40 round trip. I'm not sure what other airlines come into there and from where, but there has to be some.

The closest airport is Tri-Cities Regional. Only about 15/20 minutes from Bristol and the track.

Guilty

I'm happy for Shane for landing on his feet, but at the end of the day, he is trying to recruit the same top tier talent in VA as we are.

Since the jackpot has been up'd figured I needed to alter my answer: one night (a full 24-48 hrs) with Daisy Ridley. Oh yea.

Yeah, Those were the good ole days! I've been Smirk-a-lurkin around here for some time. I can't commit as much time to the forum like I used to, but its nice to be recognized!
O.G. REPRESENT!

I'd rather take the lump sum and bank it. I can make way more money in the same 30 years stretch than if I took the annuity. And, if I take it all now, I don't have to worry about something like this happening.

if you take the lump sum and put it in CDs with a 3% interest rate you will surpass the value of the annuity total by year 17. By year 30 you'll have almost $1.5B just in CDs. And that is if you siphon off $3.2M of tax free interest to live on each year. If you're smart with the money, you'll make a whole lot more in 30 years by taking the lump sum and banking it.

Coach Beamer's special teams goals for each game, as relayed by Steve Marshall, former Hokies assistant coach to the The Hokie Huddler, September 20, 1988:

  • Allow no more than four yards per [punt] return.
  • Down a punt inside the 10-yard line.
  • Hold [kickoff] returns to 20 yards or less.
  • Average 10 yards per punt return.
  • Block a punt, field goal, extra point, or force a bad kick.
  • Average 24 yards per [kick] return.
  • Make 100 percent of PATs.
  • Connect on at least 66 percent of field goals.
  • Have no penalties or mental errors [on ST].

IMHO, I really think Coach Beamer's setting of aggressive goals for special teams represents a hallmark moment, at least for college football..

You forgot to tell everyone they are open 24 hours (except Sunday). Tennessee sweet sourdough bread is the best.

idk how true that is. people in SEC country barely even know how GA is doing anymore. they were 10-3 this year and in the top 25 all season. the pulse around here and that I get from folks is that GA is a barely .500 team even when they win 10 games. they were never really considered a threat to anyone outside of Athens. specially after Chub went down. theyre kind of like the UNC of the SEC. every year they are predicted to take the conference and then they end up in the middle of the pack somewhere.

id also say that until the last 3 years everyone on the west coast new how VT was doing too. they still do they just now know that VT isn't doing that well. I honestly don't think UGA is anymore of a Brand than VT is. heck atleast VT has marketed themselves well with all the Jersey combos that gets us some PUB. UGA hasn't had a different Uni combo in 10 years other than wearing black (which is one of their primary colors anyways)

Yeah, but the way the markets have been recently, 7% return is a fantasy. Shoot, my 401(k) return has been damn near in the negative territory.

There's one thing I still don't understand about this whole thing. The Rams used to be in LA and found a reason to leave. What has changed that suddenly makes LA a super desirable spot again?
