I got the ones who have recruiting in their title. The two questionable ones are Brad Scott and Jeff Davis, but I'm not sure they do anything but hang around. Both are Clemson legacies and outcast former coaches.
And the VT staff isn't set yet. For instance, Bruce Garnes isn't included in the Football staff, but he's been around forever and does much of what you are supposing these Clemson guys do. Garnes is still listed on the VT staff page under "Equipment" but with no job title, so maybe they are reassigning him?
Lots of small and medium boosters with the occasional big money guy.

Dude is a wrecking ball on defense. Though, he needs to wrap up more instead of always trying to take someone's head off. He will learn.
Tell that to my daughter's friend, who can't find a job making coffee in an engineering firm. In the eyes of recruiters, the generalized engineering degree is like a freshman year and three sophomore years: you have lots of engineering credits, but you don't have enough background in any specific field of engineering to be useful.
I certainly hope so. As much as the spread has made the D struggle, Foster's record against the spread offenses is better than his record against power teams lately. The last three seasons, VT is 3-6 vs BC, Pitt, and Miami, 1-5 the last two seasons.
I love it when players finish out their careers.

If that TE from Bama comes out that pushes Bucky another round IMO. .. dude looked beastly last night and just because Bama didn't use him as much he still had the speed and shiftiness to break some tackles.

For whatever it is worth, I think the bigger core group of DL will be an asset in protecting the linebackers a little better. Lu, Dadi, and Corey were all penetration guys. That is great when you get TFLs, however it can expose your linebackers (as evidenced in the review) when you leave them in a position where they need to beat a block and make a tackle. Hopefully this next DL can be effective and at the same time the LBs physically mature and show the ability to win those battles as well.
Other than Baron all of our DT next year are good size, heck Settle is too big. Ken is good size, all of the defensive ends taken in this cycle and last year are already bigger or the same size as Dadi give them a few years in a college strength and conditioning program and they will be bigger than him. What you are harping on has already been happening, on the oline too
So this just backs up the argument that we never had anyone declare for the draft after 3 years that wasn't expected to be a 1st round, possibly 2nd round pick. Bucky would break that trend, if he left early this year.

We just added two positions only a year ago, its like we were selling cars out of our own backyard and expecting to compete with Ashley Schaeffer (yes this Ashley Schaeffer)
I was definitely a serious fan in 1999, and my recollection is -- sort of, but not really. My memory is VT had a very solid team, but I didn't feel then like we had the level of talent that Clemson has now. Obviously, MV1 was the X factor, and he was a phenom. But, beyond Vick, again, I didn't feel the team had the level of talent we now see of Clemson. All IMHO, of course.
I can't escape the comments about recruiting. We have never recruited anywhere near the level of a Top 10 class, and therein is the issue. Don't get me wrong, in his hay-day, Coach Beamer got more out of our 2 and 3 stars than just about any coach. So, we played way above our level of raw talent. But, the level of raw talent still matters. And, I saw a big difference in that 1999 BCS champ game.
Coach F will have to find a way to boost our recruiting to a top 15 level (and do it consistently) before I see VT competing like Clemson did last night. I hope we see it.
Isn't Beamer staying on as Special Assistant to the Athletic Director? Seems to me, ignoring all else, it would be unwise to root against your employer.
Any chance that having a spread-offensive minded coach helps Bud identify weaknesses in his defensive scheme against the spread? Obviously Loeffler wasn't going to help him identify any of those gaps, so Bud was basically scheming it all by himself. But having someone with a spread mindset, might help expand an already extensive knowledge of defensive schemes to match an offense.
He would be an ideal whip in Foster's scheme versus pro sets and should be an ace special teams guy. I worry about his size if he ends up at mike linebacker, but you love his attitude at the football and willingness to make plays. He looks like the type of player who you find a role for, rather than pigeon holing him into an odd fit.
I suppose... and yes I love twitch as well, but I always took that as something players either have or don't have, not something that is coached. And while I agree Dadi is a great success, but I think he flipflops a lot on his opinion on kids playing DE, like Mihota, and I just want to see us able to play bigger bodies out there. I know that doesn't fit the unique scheme Bud has unless they have the speed, but I still believe that until we prove that our system can play with size on the outside and not move DE size to DT, we will forever be missing elite recruits on the DL.
I've harped on that enough over number of threads, but I believe it is the case. Just my opinion though.
