I may be reading into this too much, but it seems to me Scott could primarily be the defensive recruiting coach. We need to recruit the DL and LB spots heavily, and I think that is exactly what Scott is going to do, while also helping out with coaching duties. As has been mentioned on here recently, a conduit of sorts to the defense for Fuente and the overall program's recruiting efforts. Nice move to make Bud associate head coach, and very well deserved.

The NFL Network (with much more limited access to homes ) is consistently the #1 cable show on Thursday nights and beats ESPN college football handily in the ratings. This year's VT-GT Thursday game was beaten 5 to 1 in viewers by the Bills-Jets. This is only going to get worse as NFL Network access increases. If a Thursday night NFL game is also broadcast on a network, the difference is like 15 or 20 to 1 over an ESPN college game.
If Thursday night isn't dead for college football, it's on life support with no sign of brain activity.

agreed. bucky didn't write the article. he didn't say hes going to the draft. and why shouldn't he put in his paperwork. every year. that's why most of these kids are playing college ball is to get to the NFL. And lets be real not many athletes that are good don't have a little bit of swagger to themselves and confidence, its not like hes johnny manziel or anything.

In addition to whips, Cornell Brown was tagged as assistant d-line coach too. Although, I am bit confused myself. Even though it seems like the opposite has been reported, I don't think Scott's only responsibility will be assistant d-line coach. My guess is something has been lost in translation.

Yeah, but that's fine. If he's interested in VT, we are interested in him. A commit from Yulee and a year at Hargraves would be completely acceptable. And who knows, there are about 5 commit every year who may not make the grades a couple of them do.
Updated article with more details on the newly formed Catholic league and schedule. Also, appears there will be a decent amount of people following, although the $13k / year may be a challenge given they do not currently offer athletic scholarships - we'll see how long that lasts.
