Well, money is fungible so what he said is likely not strictly true. I think the point Whit was trying to make was that he had money on hand to pay for Fuente and staff and was not relying on a projection that he would be able to get that much money; a commitment to fiscal responsibility while also demonstrating that he'll spend money to make money.
Watching this video, I still like Buzz. A lot.
I'm still a Buzz-liever, and I still think he'll get there, even if it's not this season.

I watched Fuente's introductory press conference and Whit said then that Hokie Club donations don't go to pay for coaches salaries. He said it was his job to pay for that in other ways. He said that Hokie Club donations all go directly to supporting the student athletes. I don't know if that is 100% accurate but even if it is close it makes me feel better about giving money to the athletic programs.
I'm glad we have the video, but is it really so hard to hold the camera steady? Use both hands! Maybe get a tripod if you need it!

Let me also say that Roger Ayers is a great official, but the other two are atrocious and I'm thinking Buzz is being too kind to those two. For them, its about blowing the whistle on any minor contact- they just don't have the quick judgement to be good officials.
There is just too much minor contact being called a foul these days and it absolutely ruins the game flow. It was on both sides yesterday. I'm really getting sick of watching it. If you watched the GS- Cleveland game you saw a great game with a decent amount of contact and you'd never think it was too rough. These clowns would have called 40 fouls in that game.

# | Brad Cornelsen Named Virginia Tech Offensive Coordinator and Quarterbacks Coach I fully agree with GuitarMan. Somehow relating our game next year against Tennessee to a Memphis v Auburn bowl game is absurd. Let me count off the reasons why:
1) As pointed out, Memphis lost their head coach and damn near their entire offensive staff before the game and their QB will be turning pro.
2) VT has a completely different roster and team than Memphis.
3) Tennessee is a completely different team than Auburn. Making that connection because they share a conference is like comparing our team to Georgia Tech's.
4) If you're that worried about it, go watch the spanking Memphis' offense put on Ole Miss this season. Unlike these other attempts at the transient property, that was in fact the same Ole Miss team that handed Alabama their only loss.
5) Tennessee is only one game. For the love of Lane Stadium, let's not allow it to define Fuente or his staffs' ability to coach football or succeed at VT when it will be all of his second game as head coach.

Wale - The Album About Nothing
There aren't many albums I've listened to where each song has been as equally as listenable and enjoyable as the other.
The Night sweats get a vote for the best named backup band.
I'm curious though, why the hate for Brit Rock?
From the Metalcore scene, I give to you:
August Burns Red - Found in Far Away Places - Probably the most musically innovative metal/metalcore album in the last 5 years, minimum. I've loved these guys from the beginning, and they have never recorded the same album twice, which I appreciate. They took some real risks on this one, and it turned out great, IMO. It's my album of the year.
Parkway Drive - Ire - This one took me a little while to come around on. It's quite a bit different from their previous work, which I love, so I was a tad disappointed upon first listen. After a few passes though, it found its way into my heart where it belongs. Nothing particularly innovative, but still one of the most intense bands out there with the best lyricist in any genre of metal and the best live show in music (IMO, of course).
Silverstein - I Am Alive in Everything I Touch - This is more post-hardcore/emo, but it's really a great album. Every track has background noise mixed in from a different city around the US/Canada. There's a good mix of harder stuff with some clean vocals. Another quality album from these guys.
The Devil Wears Prada - Space EP - This is the second EP these guys have put out, along with 3 full-length albums. They really know how to do an EP. The outer-space theme is prevalent throughout, and while it's probably not quite as good as their Zombie EP it's still a really good effort.
In Non-Metalcore (there is such a thing?), I really like the following:
Dustin Kensrue - Carry The Fire - This is my non-metalcore album of the year. Seriously, give this a listen. His voice has a grasp on my soul.
Frank Turner - Positive Songs for Negative People - Really catchy stuff, especially from a Brit. Have I mentioned I hate Brit Rock. I really like this guy, though. His best album since England Keep My Bones (which is his best work).
Nathaniel Rateliff & The Nightsweats - This is timeless stuff. Seriously, try to listen to this album and not have a good time.
Folk Soul Revival - Out of the Box - Gotta give a shoutout to my favorite Virginia boys. This is their best work since 2010's Words Off a Tongue.
I pretty much agree. I thought Space came up a little short of Zombie head-to-head, but I also thought Dead Throne was their low point as a band, and even that wasn't horrible. 8:18 wasn't bad and I feel like they've gotten back on track with Space EP. Nonetheless, they'll certainly never top WRA&BB. That was such an great album.

Buzz said pregame that Outlaw was the top talent in last years class and that he had an offer from a best of the best program (didn't say specifically) and chose ours.
Jason Isbell "Something more than free" made me rethink an entire genre.
Agreed. Then there's always the off chance that maybe what you listened to didn't connect at the time but it does later (often the case with me).
Though I've listened to less hardcore this year, ABR continues to be my all time favorite hardcore band.

It just seems albums always have a few songs that don't hold up to the others.

I do. Just bought couple actually (digital) and even requested a couple CDs and vinyls. One particular that I purchased digitally was the Blues Bros Original Soundtrack.
I think there are appropriate times to line up and see how the defense reacts- it's just not when your team is losing and there's less than 2 minutes left in the damn game.
