Just saw this myself. Sad news. Thoughts to his family and friends. Thanks for reporting. Logged in just to do the same.
I've been following Chris Stapleton since before his Steeldrivers days, and am glad he is finally getting some recognition. One of the purest voices in country, and a refreshing new take from the usual pop country (Luke Bryan, Florida Georgia Line) that has taken over the genre today. His song Parachute is also getting a ton of play during all of the bowl games this year.
Kinda like characterizing one statement I make and overlooking or completely disregarding another?
Anyone that sounds like Sam Cooke has my vote
Mine, too. Thanks for the recommendation!

# | Brad Cornelsen Named Virginia Tech Offensive Coordinator and Quarterbacks Coach Herman would have been great for 1- 3 years before he bolted for Texas or Texas AM
I find it hard to believe that Kirby Smart has hired his entire staff already.
Okay guys, I know Phreak didn't get along great with everyone here, but he was a really good guy who was just passionate about his work. I hate to break the news but Eric Ryan aka VTPhreak4evr has passed away. His brother, Jami, posted this on Facebook.
RIP Eric, you will be missed.
I don't think the wrestling match happens if Memphis doesn't warn Auburn that this guy likes to steal game balls if he makes an interception. I bet usually he can usually just saunter up to the equipment cart, grab one and go. This time Auburn's equipment staff was on the lookout and interfered.
What I don't understand is why he just doesn't keep the actual ball he intercepted, I guess the refs require its return to the other team for use later in the game?
Evans looks about the same height as Nicolas (6'3") in these photos - before accounting for cleats vs sneakers.
I'd say Evans is 6'3.5" which rounds up to 6'4"
Looking at one game, in a vacuum, is ridiculous.

Look, I trust him and all (certainly MORE than Stiney or Loeffler), but that score did concern me a bit.
I can't read the comments on his facebook post of blog. The negativity and general ineptitude frustrates me to no end. It's like dealing with the kids that you play against on Xbox Live
Surprised nobody mentioned Chris Stapleton.
Well, at this point they all have an equal opportunity to become "the guy". Whichever one does the best job of taking advantage of the opportunity will be our QB. It's all up to them.
not to mention assaulting the ball boy
The ACC is 2 for 2 in terms of "Going undefeated gets you a playoff spot"
Not sure how much more help a conference needs/ should reasonably expect beyond that promise. Especially given that going undefeated is a lot easier for a team like our Hokies right now than most SEC/PAC 12 or big 10 teams
Go Sooners!
I've given up on hoping the ACC does well. The ACC just isn't very good. There really is no arguing otherwise. I have found much more joy in rooting against teams I hate regardless of conference affiliation. I'm in a much better mood right now, for instance, than I would be if I was rooting for #goACC teams

I increased from Golden to Platinum. It wasn't tied to the coaching hire entirely, but that was one of the factors for me to bump a level this year rather than next year. Moreso though, I have been trying to increase my donations over time as I've gotten raises at work so that I can increase my support of the athletic department. (I graduated in December 2002, started at O&M level in 2003, and I have been bumping up one level every 3 years or so.) Realistically, this is probably my ceiling though, unless I hit the lottery or something. Theoretically when I hit 50 I'll be at the benefactor level, but that's a long way off and who knows what life will bring.
Kind of like watching the Belk Bowl yesterday.

The thing I learned in my long ago yute, one should never discount music in any of the forms it takes. Even my dad, who would be ancient were he still alive, said often, "there's no accounting for taste", but he meant it in an inclusive, not derisive way. He was also frequently quoting John Lennon with "whatever gets ya through the night" in the same way. We argued about rock, which he didn't care for, and big band, which I didn't want to listen to, but we were in agreement on Tennessee Ernie Ford, and Flatt and Scruggs, for example. My point is that while he didn't listen to a lot of artists, most of most of the rest of us don't either, given the enormous amount of music there is in the world. And with all that said, I usually know good music when I hear it, whether I want to hear it again or not. I'll read the posts in this thread again and try to be on the lookout for an opportunity to hear some of these folks.
