19 of Miles points came by way of layup, dunk, tip in or from getting to the free throw line after driving into the lane to score. Having someone capable of redirecting him would have been helpful but probably doesn't change the outcome of the game. I do however think that having our bigs in the lane playing defense could have had a big impact, but Buzz prefers the smaller lineup for offense and the man to man defense that allowed St Joes to draw our bigs outside when they were in the game.

Really you can't just let us enjoy our harmless game play you have to try and make jokes?
I kinda wish Joe would just set your downvote value at like -10,000 so it really is an instaban. If an established poster goes nuts, your -10 will only be good for blurring individual comments. It would take hours to take down someone with thousands of legs.
Yeah I think light saber fights should be this pedestrian for first part of the trilogy. Think about the fact that he has literally no saber wielding foe to go against. And it looks like snoke might be the saber-less type too, meaning no practice. It would make sense that his force power greatly out shine his ability with the saber.

Okay but to be fair, it was a tale of two halves. Bembry scored almost all of his points in the lane in the first half, but most of Miles' scoring damage came from jumpers from outside. Granted he did absolutely destroy us on the offensive glass, but some days a guy just can't miss. It's not like Miles was going inside and getting uncontested layups; he was mostly hitting 20-25 ft jumpers that just happened to go in. Even if Pierce, Blackshear, or Hamilton were on him, I'd still be willing to bet he would have had a very similar game.

When it reopens in October 2015, the arena's footprint will have expanded by 150,000 square feet, and it will contain modern restrooms and concession stands and a wider concourse. The venue's 7,000-seat count will remain the same, but the old oval-shaped seating bowl will be replaced by a tighter configuration placing seats closer to the court, said Jeremiah Donati, TCU's associate vice chancellor and associate AD for development.
The project's centerpiece, 500 courtside seats with the option to access a lounge on the arena's north side, will fund the majority of construction. Donors giving the school a minimum of $50,000 annually are eligible to buy those seats. There is a separate fee for access to the lounge, Donati said.
The Olympic sports could use standouts also. Didn't Mama Fuller play college sports?

I'm so glad I learned not to play addictive grinding games back when they only cost a monthly fee.
hey, to each their own, right? Some people like to argue and debate. Some people don't. A lot of people find other peoples' debates to be annoying or pointless, particularly when they don't have a strong opinion one way or the other. Nothing really wrong with that so long as you keep it all within the guidelines, IMO

From perusing the VT website, I don't see any mention of Cochrane/West End being athletes-only at any point in history. However, the history of other buildings definitely implies it.
In 1971, Hillcrest Hall (which has an attached dining room) was converted from female-only to male athlete-only and remained that way until 1982-83, which just so happens to be when Cochrane Hall/Dining Hall opened. In 1999, as you said, that dining hall became West End.
So it is definitely plausible that from at least 1971 to 1999 the football team had housing and food provided to them separate from the rest of the student population.
Well, f-k dammit! I REALLY felt that this was a great opportunity for a "make a statement game with win". This program still has a long-ass way to go.
its sort of a double edged sword. I get what you're saying and I generally agree with it. The problem is that he was going to continue posting "noise" regardless of whether people were commenting on it. By responding to his posts and egging him on we were just giving him enough rope to hang himself. Without responding to him he wouldn't have the opportunity to post comments worthy of downvotes and he wouldn't end up being banned. So, the way I see it, either we don't respond to his comments and he continues posting worthless "noisy" posts OR we respond forcefully and get him to show his true colors which in turn leads to the community ban. I know it's annoying in the short term (36 hours or so) but in the grand scheme of things it minimizes those useless comments.

However, he was a solid step forward and only wish him the best in the future...

The users themselves have the ability to try to correct unwanted behavior, either through voting or (hopefully even better) dialogue. When confronted with his inconsistencies, he reverted to troll behavior, at which point he got himself banned. This isn't the worst thread derail we've seen, and it got taken care of relatively quickly. Given how infrequent such events are, I'd call this one pretty good overall. Without the community giving him the ability to shoot himself in the foot, it would have been on me to dig through his posting history and arbitrarily -10 him until he was banned. That, I feel, is slightly inappropriate, even if it does serve the higher purpose of getting rid of a problem.
If that was 100% true he never would have been fired when he was. By all accounts that I heard he was fired because he was no longer a fit in the VT culture.
