Perhaps. But right now we have one movie to go on. And lacking any in-film explanation, it feels to me like the New Republic existed soley so the Bag Guys (tm) could blow them up with their DeathStar++ just because Star Wars should have a Death Star.
If we're throwing out all of the Timothy Zahn / etc stuff as non-canon, then the New Republic hasn't been established as being much of anything. The Resistance is pretty much everything the Rebellion was - a plucky but overmatched band fighting against, and on the run from, the Empire, with a reasonably complete military force and intelligence service, and Leia as a primary character deeply involved. The New Republic, on the other hand, rated about three lines of dialogue - and that wasn't even about their military or politics, just establishing their existance and mentioning some quiet below-table support to the Resistance. And four-five planets are gone... so that's it?
Now, if the New Republic is larger than that, and the First Order only got around to killing one system out of many (despite a plan to crush it entirely), then that's a wholly different ball of wax. Then they might be a real player that just had its Pearl Harbor moment. But I left the theater with the impression that the Abrams and the script writers decided to shoehorn a Death Star into the film "because Star Wars."

I hope he is a better coach than he is a recruiter. Also, from what I read, it looks like Coach Fuente is grooming him to be the next VT DC after Coach Foster retires. This is just conjecture on my part so don't read to much into it. Hope I'm wrong. Would love Coach Torrian Gray to be our next DC.

It's one question I always had about the Star Wars universe. Why do they basically have the exact same technology for thousands and thousands of years? You would think after countless wars, somebody would try and find a way to stop a lightsaber
We'll never get a KOTOR trilogy with the Mandalorian Wars, Jedi Civil War, and the Jedi Purge.
That makes me sad.
Well to be fair, they aren't actually a recognized part of a major religion. Also some of their beliefs are considered extreme to many people in other larger, more popular religions.

That's funny, tweets from Mods here saying stuff about paying for bolts had been posted over there and even commented on b by CZY. So i guess that was just taken out of context. So that's neither here nor there. Well I'm not going to post anything from behind a pay wall however it has been said by multiple people in the know that GS is indeed the plan.
It's not true that TKP doesn't like 24/7 or any other subscription service. The connected people at 24/7 report good information, just like the insiders at TSL have their own connections. Some guys know what they're talking about. There is, however, a false narrative that gets perpetuated that anything behind a paywall is somehow instantly more credible. Saying something is from 24/7 means little; saying something that the reputable sources are reporting carries more weight, otherwise it could just be people passing around random stuff.
KOTOR 1 may not be official canon, I can't remember. But there is no doubt in my mind that if it was made into a film, it would be top 2 on the story alone.
There is an iOS/android game called Star Wars: Uprising that is considered canon, and this is starting to be addressed in the game regarding the shields and the fact that that light saber doesn't cut through those melee weapons
You won't have to wait that long to find out now. I know this board doesn't like 247 cause it's a "subscription" board but they definitely give the best info on the Hokies athletic department. Czy and Evan have very good sources not to mention TCB, Willard, Dwight Vick, Matej(who is on the board of visitors), 4bird and RangerHokie. They have never given a scoop that was very far off. So I think I'll take their word for what's going on over yours or anyone else on this board who isn't a Mod that is in the know.
They can actually let Hill play some games while trying to decide whether to seek a medical redshirt. I am not sure what the limit is.

He's definitely an upgrade for them. Their offense was bad this year, but BC lost 5 games by 3 points, including Notre Dame. He will help them, especially if BC's defense can be as stout next year as it was this year.

Apparently the Z6 is just really well reinforced. We've seen before that lightsabers don't instantly destroy strong metals (like blast doors), so quick strikes from a lightsaber are probably tolerable, especially when it's wielded by a guy who doesn't really know what he's doing.
Herman has put himself in a pretty good position, as long as Houston does well next year. If Texas has another sub-par year, Charlie Strong is probably out, too. Sumlin and Strong getting the axe from the two biggest programs in Texas sounds like Herman's ideal scenario. It'd set up a bidding war for him.
