It's now clear Dabo is a better HC. I had my doubts about Ed Warriner (OSU OL Coach) and Tim Beck (Formerly Nebraska's OC) being able to reproduce what Chad Morris created.
This doesn't seem uncommon when a player has to go to a prep school because of academics.
One of the things I've liked about the VT program is that we encourage these young men academically. I realize we lose some recruits through both the clearinghouse and the VT admissions process, but I will chose academic integrity over athletics every time. When these student-athletes leave with a degree from Virginia Tech after 3-4 years, I want it to mean something to them, as well as their future employers.
I hope these young men find a successful path.
Good for him, hope he kicks some serious ass and destroys ECUs soul in conference play

Guys, at virginia tech we always did things the right way under beamer. First we take prime talent from a poor JUCO school, And now were talking about STEALING (recruits). I just don't like the way things are changing under this new "fuente" fella. I think were losing our moral core.

We're not stealing anyone. These are recruits and until they are signed, they can be recruited. Beamer & Co. also "stole" Dwayne Lawson and Isaiah Ford, but no one complained about their recruitment when they picked the good guys. Beamer's rule was to back off if the kid asked to stop being contacted. The JUCO thing is pretty new, but that's largely due to academic hurdles of getting into an ACC school and VT's own standards. Pursuing a JUCO kid can be a risky proposition depending on a lot of complex academic requirements. Beamer & Co. probably didn't feel it was worth the effort to jump through the hoops. But a kid that has finished a JUCO degree and wants to transfer is fair game and something that a lot of schools do. As long as Evans meets the requirements to enroll in VT, good for him and welcome.
