When I think of gangster rap, I think of Ice Cube, Tupac, Dr. Dre, and early Snoop Dogg, not Chief Keef. I can barely understand a word Chief Keef says and Love Sosa and Hate Being Sober don't scream the same message to me as 2 of Amerikaz Most Wanted and Nuthin' But a G Thang. To me there really are no more mainstream gangster rappers any more in today's mainstream rap scene, aside from Dr. Dre. His album "Compton" he released this year was real and raw that talked about real stuff and real issues, not sippin on dirty Sprite and bangin' bad bitchez like Chief seems to include in all his lyrics to every song he's ever written. That's not gangster rap IMO.
Never.
The football brothers trend at VT lives on!!!
THIS UNIFORM YES.
Those really were some pretty solid uniforms. A unique and modern uniform that wasn't over the top.
One would hope that Burden was paying attention when he saw firsthand what happened when we settled on one premier RB
Because the 'get off my lawn' segment of the fan base complained to a guy who looked for any reason to change from 'cool' and 'new'
That would make a lot of sense. I think it would be a good move for JMU (young coach with strong pedigree and in-state connections) and for Shane (a strong, lower-tier, in-state program with reasonable expectations).
Plus, Grandma and Grandpa Beams wouldn't be far away!
Keeping Zhorn Burden, Gray, Foster, Wiles are outstanding decisions. Fuente is doing great in his evaluation.
Expect to keep seeing it. Fuente has historically used a running back rotation of 2-3 backs plus designed QB runs. There's a TSL article with specifics that went up earlier today.
I'm glad we kept Burden on the coaching staff, but RB? Shane Beamer was new to the position and look at how that worked out for us. I don't want to see another RB by committee...
As for the open defensive coaching position that is still currently open, we need another coach that can recruit. UVa and UMd have also upgraded their coaching staffs as well.
I like how you think!!!

Why did we move away from those?
I don't have a problem with us switching but our branding has become synonymous with Nike's branding so anytime I see it with Under Armour it's just weird.
You know what, you're right. If we reward these kids with a bowl game, they'll have to practice for that much longer, play hard for another whole game, and just generally contribute to them growing up to be lazy, useless bums.
Instead, we shouldn't give them these free rewards, they should just go home and spend the holidays on the couch! That'll teach them the value of hard work and effort!
Wait...

Orange pants.
It's on TSL for free.
This thread is very "get off my lawn" and almost selfish. Everyone of these kids works their ass off for four months and then we get all pissy when they get rewarded. Sure, the bowls are about generating revenue but the players get some perks and a bit of a vacation. And, we get more football. FYI the Bahamas bowl and the Miami Beach Bowl were two really really good bowl games last season. What's wrong with rewarding a 6-6 season? You guys act like each bowl is the national championship.
Except is it better because it lacks a scissors logo.
No write up, but some people thought he should have been included in ACC recognition. At least he is getting some well deserved

Matt Hasselbeck would technically be Big East, since that was well before BC joined the ACC.

Officially announced:
1.) Bud Foster (defensive coordinator)
2.) Torrian Gray (defense secondary)
3.) Charley Wiles (DL)
4.) Holman Wiggins (WR)
5.) James Shibest (TE/ST)
6.) Vance Vice (OL)
Unofficially announced:
7.) Brad Cornelson (OC/QB)
8.) Zohn Burden (RB)
There's still one assistance spot vacant. Based on positions, it's currently the one being filled by Cornell Brown. I haven't seen any reports about Galen Scott that are above the rumored level.
