I could definitely see that, but I could also make the argument that we have different definitions of "body of work". But I am far too passive to start that discussion lol. It probably makes more sense in fantasy football to go by points and not wins anyway, given the nature of the game
Yes weekends and 2-4 games a year what about all the weeknight games?
Good season, thanks for putting that together every week. I would say that's my favorite TKP feature, but that's like choosing your favorite kid. Or your favorite win over UVA.
Not saying they haven't. I just think it would be good to see that this new group of coaches can compete for a top RB with no ties to the area.
Thanksgiving day was good for schoolies in potomac north of 301 bridge. Got 2 keepers, Hope they are still around this weekend. I never knew we had stripers this far up the river except for the spring run. People telling me stripers up to 24-27 inches are there year round. Gotta explore that. Anyone up here with tips would be great.
I can't stop wanting to call him Vince Vice or Vance Vince. Vince Vance sounds more typical.
The team being 3-5, mostly being left for the dead by us fans (myself included) but rallying to win their last 2 games on the road and scratching out a win against the Hoos in Frank's last home game to reach bowl eligibility.

I doubt we would land him. Fuente has showed that he is willing to scout and offer kids from that area of the country though. It would be nice to see us really compete for an elite back from outside of our region. Just wishful thinking.
Taste the DwayneBowe needs to beat Dude You're Getting Odell for a shot at the playoffs, but even if they do, they'll still need another 8-4 team to lose, as Odell has over 100 more points than Dwayne Bowe (almost as much as in real life, where Odell has 151.7 more points than Bowe). While that's possible, I wouldn't bet on it.
I agree, but I wonder if we can compete with Stanford's athletic department, they rank well in ALL sports and Tech might need the home field advantage to sway him.
It would be really nice if we got some consideration but he looks to be bound somewhere else most likely. You never know though, stranger things have happened
I'm going down to Sanibel Island in Florida at the beginning of January with the family. Planning on going on an inshore charter to hopefully land my first red drum. This is definitely the only motivation I have for pushing through finals.
IMO, Gentry was a huge reason a lot of our 3* guys went on to be NFL caliber players. A huge cornerstone for which Beamer built the program on.
I'd rather fill the seats than give the appearance of attendance
You're still not understanding how the economics of sports venues work.
EVERY stadium and Arena has a low side economic. Every single one. So wanting to fill more seats is irrelevant. When the team is not winning there will be empty seats. Whether that is 20%, 30%, 50% or more below full capacity there is always a low side. Right now it would appear that VT's is around 50%.
Empty seats are a given. How you deal with that shortfall is the issue. Premium seats is one measure to cover that shortfall if done correctly and smartly, but there is always a shortfall.
Having met Rohrk I think he will be a great hire if we get him. He'll get our players fired up that's for sure. Haven't met Coach Gentry in person, but I've always liked talking with him on the phone. He's done a lot for the school and I hope he enjoys his retirement.
...I don't even know her
Devwah Whaley, the #4 RB of 2016 who just resigned his commitment from UGA, had an offer from Memphis. I wonder if Fuente is still interested in going after this kid.
I think what the biggest issue is that Gentry oversaw ALL varsity sports, not just football. We're going to need someone with experience in a wide range of sports to replace him. Strength and conditioning isn't the same for Women's volleyball, as it is for football.
To be fair, VT does own the hoos.

I'd rather fill the seats than give the appearance of attendance.
I'm not opposed to luxury seating, but I think we actually need numbers for these kinds of things. VT has had some success in basketball before. It wasn't even that long ago, so I'm sure they've got some pretty good data. Like I've said, I'm hesitant to give up seating unless there's a pretty good rationale, and I think the program is currently in a major upswing.
All of that said, I completely trust Whit on these sorts of things.
I think it's interesting that early in the season Tulsa lost to Oklahoma (52-38) and Houston (38-24) by exactly 14 points!

I had a lot of fun making picks. I'm still disappointed* that I don't get any bonus points for them though
*-no, not really.
