I'm assuming he's talking Indiana based on his twitter page pic.

This is traditionally how we have had success. Coach up good players (3* mostly, some 4*) and leverage the on-field success to get a few game-breaker 5* players. Of course, we have more teams in our backyard these days, taking some of that premiere 757 talent, but we can put ourselves in a good position. There's no longer uncertainty about the coaching staff's future, so that element of negative recruiting is gone. If we can return to being a Coastal contender, we will get a few of those top guys that can push us towards national relevance. It's a good recipe. As long as Fuente can sell a vision of success at VT, promote our facilities, academics, and the fact that we still have a family-first atmosphere, he will do fine.

In regards to Adam Rowe and Duke's 24/7 reports:

Yeah winning is number 1 I think.

For all the hoopla around Fuente's recruiting, I honestly don't think he'll set the world on fire out on the recruiting trail. I'm hoping that his assistants will be very good at recruiting, because my impression of him is that he is a pretty down-to-earth, no nonsense guy, and my impression of a good recruiter is that of a consummate salesman. I don't think he's the sales type.

Don't get me wrong, I think he'll do fine, I just don't think we're going to start pulling in multiple 5-star guys every cycle (not that anyone is outwardly claiming this).

Real name is Marc Clay Mendenhall.
'Clay Mendenhall' seems more hooish; seems to fit more than Bronco.

I wish they did this every week. My favorite is Cutcliffe ranking UNC 7th. The guy is too nice.

Thanks Joe always good to see what coaches voted where especially for fellow conference teams.

Everything uniform related should be finalized, I'd think. Consider they order uniforms in November for the next season, I would think they'd be ordered.

Fair enough. I certainly agree, this would be odd.

This is what I was referring to.

And Duke's 24/7 site is reporting Duke to the Pinstripe is done. But they also claim this, so it could be a joke.

With over 49,000 tickets to sell, Duke's large alumni base in New York City as well as a fanbase that's shown willing to travel to bowl games basically anywhere on the east coast.

Not sure which is worse, the grammar in the sentence above or the actual statement.

Well, she did say "if," so it's certainly not a lock, but I just wonder why that's even a plausible scenario. Sure, anything is possible, but Duke fans are not going to travel to NY for a bowl game. I just don't see it.

I am in 100% agreement with this. Not sure why anyone thinks Duke to the Pinstripe is a lock.

If they do it'll have to be in the back of the OOC. With the moves in the Coastal, still think UVa is going to be having a rough time

Which makes it an even better chance for Nashville to get the final say. Also, that's why I used the "" - not a pecking order but Nashville got a damn good ND team (in regards to other choices and fan travel) and shouldn't be allowed to get a team over the Belk if it comes down to it.

Last I heard from one of VT's licensing attorneys a couple weeks ago was that it was still in the fledging stages. There's been a couple of concepts tossed around but nothing finalized yet. But we should have new uniforms, fonts, etc. come week 1 of the 2016 season.

Not sure Duke has the traveling fan base to make a trip to Pinstripe profitable for them. Pitt to Pinstripe makes better geographical sense, which means Belk could take VT over Duke.

It's not supposed to be picks anymore, it's supposed to be a tier process acting all together, both the bowl games and the ACC working together.

Not looking good. But Nashville got ND last year (pretty much the first pick in tier 1) so I am thinking they will be forced to have the last "pick" and take Pitt.

Nope. I didn't want to crush his hopes and dreams this early on though. They may get there eventually but I see 2018 at the earliest

Recruiting class ratings have been shown multiple times of being very strong predictors of on field success. Even under Beamer when the narrative was we were "coaching up" under rated players, we were statistically playing similarly to our recruiting class rating most of the time. Trust me, we want more 4 and 5 start recruits.
