# | Report: Memphis Assistants Holman Wiggins and James Shibest to Join Justin Fuente at Virginia Tech I have no idea what thread to put this in, but I just got choked up listening to Bud on Tech Talk Live. He got really emotional at the end of his interview and you could tell he was shedding some tears. He sounds really excited, and I really, really, hope that we can elevate this program in a large part for him. Also, he said he was looking forward to the years (in plural) to come. He doesn't just genuinely love Frank Beamer, he loves this university... God, I love Bud!

# | Cornell posts on FB his time at VT has 'come to an end' On the other side of the palpable excitement regarding the future of the program is the very human element of dismissing current coaches. This is not to say that sentimentality should prevail over a fair evaluation of performance, because it should not, but I wish all of the departing coaches the very best, with thanks for their genuine efforts to succeed at Virginia Tech.

The way Whit maneuvers through these potentially sticky issues is awesome. Gave props to the BOV, CFB, Dr Sands and even Jim Weaver by way of his son Craig before introducing another A+ hire to use his terminology. So lucky to have him.
I say whoever was on the search committee that selected him should get a raise as should he. I would vote for this dude for Governor.
Sad we will lose good coaches who love the Hokies but it is part of a new coaching program. Thanks to a great Hokie!
Only 13 of 31 active teams are better all-time against the Skins than that. Remember, they used to be a power before the Clinton administration.
