"Drinks a little more Yuengling" Seriously though I CAN'T DO THIS ANYMORE.

Telllll meeee iS he coming here or nah????? This is a roller coaster I'm seriously ready to be off now.

Fuente's post-game conference comments suggest the McMurphy report is "premature." He talks about the rumors at 0:45 and 7:40. The middle is all about the game. (Sidenote: His reaction when he learns Paxton Lynch threw 7 TD passes in the first half @ 5:29 is pretty humorous.)

Found this on a uva site. Good work hokie nation, wish I could have been there.

"Can we please talk about Tech fans rushing the field after the game? That was a class-A exhibition of jackassery. Seriously, how many fan bases are there in the nation that would rush the field at an away game? After beating a 4-8 team to reach .500?"

Hold on now, you can't have it both ways. You can't give Shane all the credit for the recruiting at South Carolina and then not hold him accountable for the recruiting misses at Virginia Tech. I don't think it makes me a "Shane hater" to acknowledge that he has been at the center of some HUGE misses recently.

I actually like the idea of holding onto Shane, Frank was the head of a recruiting network that he built over multiple decades. Keeping those relationships intact in-state will be just as crucial for Fuente as creating new relationships will be. Shane can be the bridge between the two regimes that smoothes everything over. Let's not forgot how badly things turned on Al Groh when he burned almost every bridge in state he touched.

The offense has consistently lost ground reputation wise for a LONG time now. Started with Percy H, culminated with the T-BREDS. People might not talk about it but we don' t have a strong product to sell in Virginia anymore. Well, not until today. Noone believed that Beamer was doing anything to fix an anemic offense, except for writing his memoir.

Can't sell what folks have already determined isn't true.

I actually think Bud is pretty close to getting a pretty nice sized DL together. If that happens, watch for some stud LBs want to play behind it.

But again, Charlie and Bud have established a reputation in Virginia. DBU 4 sure. Front 7 not so much. Again, I think we're almost there with our DTs and some pretty big guys from a frame perspective at DE.

To sell something you need some semblance of truth. D, yes I can see that a kid in the front seven can make it to the NFL from VT...and I think a successful though more difficult pitch can be made. Offense I think many folks had tuned us out.

Hanging all that on Shane? Don't make no sense to me. Kid crushed it at USC. At least he knows his way around big time football recruiting, anyway.

Stiney versus Shane. You Shane haters won't want to hear it but if he is kept as it appears, it is because he has been there done that recruiting wise in the SEC. Selling a VT O... if we retain our key players is going to get much much easier next year. I like Stiney alot recruiting wise, but I think Fuente took the right decision here.

How shitty of ESPN was it to:

  1. Mention candidates for the job after Sports Illustrated first broke the news
  2. Break the news after Brett McMurphy Tweeted it and not credit the original source
  3. Have the tenacity to complain about the timing AFTER THEY ANNOUNCED IT AND RAN IT ALL OVER THEIR TICKER

Anyways, here's another cog in their machine tweeting about it:

He sounded pretty intransigent regarding offensive change. I am guessing pretty much like how our HBC must have sounded ten years ago. I don' t think LSU had a choice. I am not convinced Les is gonna change. I think if they really had the money they would have sacked him.

You can be sure they didn't want to mess with their #1 incoming class. You can be equally sure every coach going against them will refer to Miles as a short timer.

I knew it was all a bunch of fluff to put pressure on him to win the Texas A&M game, who pays $15M to buyout a good coach?

What kind of message does that send to any potential coaches they try to get?

Come Coach at LSU finish 8 - 3 and a pitchfork mob will come for your head.

Dear lord, after this bungling who would want to deal with that mess in the future

Virginia Tech's ACC Defensive Efficiency Ranking

Bud Foster has only produced a top 2 team in defensive efficiency 12 out of the last 15 years, we should pass on him..............................

I agree, and it won't surprise me if there is some improvement.

If for no other reason, the relative certainty that he'll be here a few years.

If Fuente can improve on recruiting even slightly, I think this program will rebound really quickly.

As soon as the coaches and players walked out on the field I unashamedly shouted "THIS IS OUR HOUSE!" Yea
