Really thought this game was over. Players kept playing. That McMillan 3rd down and one dog pile, proved that they wanted this game.

Amazed that bud is sticking around, I can't imagine how good his defense will be when there is an offense that can move the chains.

At first, I thought Whit was underselling VT by not waiting to see if they could land a top-tier coach (Richt, Miles, Herman, Kelly). But, I'm coming to realize it will be a coaches market. Thus, it's best for VT to get the ink on paper before it gets crazy, coaches salaries get really high, and VT gets left with the scraps.

Fuente + Bud is a great hire. Could it have been better? Maybe, but probably not considering VT's lack of Booster prowess.

Agree. If we address the linebacker issue I think we'll be ok.

And obviously recruit better so that the defense can actually sign and keep talented players (get your own players, offense)

Everything I've read about Shane Beamer is that he can coach on the defensive side of the ball and special teams. Of course, given our defensive staff, he wasn't going to coach on that side of the ball. I'm ambivalent about Shane staying at VT. IMHO, I think he can better his resume by trying to take over at a G5 school.
