Shane works on kickoff coverage, IIRC. Even though Slye is a touchback machine, returns given up have been pretty well handled.
I have no doubt Tech jumps EVERY 7 win team. A bowl game in NC will sell out in minutes.
Doesn't mean he isn't shrewd. And trust me, it is a shrewd move.- considering how much they've cleaned up our state, they're trying to get a more permanent foothold, and a great way to do this is to continue actively in this manner.
Has to thread the needle to happen. ND must win, and they've got a lot of injuries to overcome. Clemson has to beat UNC and that will be a heck of a matchup, and if UNC topples Clemson, look out. Even if it all plays out as it should, there are still 7 teams with 7 wins. We could jump one of them, but that still requires everything falling in line.

For folks who may have been upset with the big plays we gave up to UNC in the 4th quarter last week:
UNC leads NC. State 35-7 at the end of the 1st quarter.
I think that move is Frank replicating Mike London wiping his tears after never beating VT.
Long shot for what? Charlotte? Clemson and ND in playoffs, FSU/UNC in NY6 bowl means not enough 8 win ACC teams to fill tier one bowl games and Belk can take VT which is what they want.
End of first quarter: UNC 35, NC St 7.
I feel a lot better about how our game turned out.

Why would we need that for ND?
They get a playoff spot ACC gets no revenue and ND will never join as a full member.
Can confirm this .. We had the money and could've bagged him but it wasn't a worthwhile investment and I think the buyout was an issue slash we didn't trust him to stick around for more than 1-2 years
