Today is her Birthday she would have been 63, I never payed any attention that her birthday was going to be the same day as the Furman game. I absolutely love the fact that her 1st birthday since shes passed is on a Hokie Game Day..... We are going to destroy Furman today shes going to make sure of that!!!!!!!!!!!! GO HOKIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is one of those little factoids that was suppressed in my memory banks long ago. When you mentioned it, I remembered seeing this happen on quite a few occasions. Was this rule changed, or did they just give up on enforcing it? I don't remember hearing about it being abandoned.

Notre Dame fans probably didn't buy tickets through the school because getting them in other ways is probably significantly cheaper. They're going on stub hub for about $50

I will never forget this day. I had a motorcyle(yamaha r6, no radio) back then and I had a scheduled flight out of a semi-local airport. It wasn't just any flight, I was supposed to fly solo for my first time that day, I had a 9 :00 AM plane reservation but I always arrived late. I arrived only moments before the second plane hit. When I walked into the FBO/Pilot lounge, one of the guys said you better get ready for war. I saw the TV and first thought someone blew up a power plant but then I immediately realized what it was as the second plane flew in live. Throughout the day you could still see the smoke from Atlantic City even though NYC is 90 miles North.

Today, they just unveiled a new memorial on the boardwalk, with a large piece of steel from the building, called the Saracini - O'Neill Memorial. Saracini, was the Captain of the United flight that flew into the building and O'Neill was the director of security for the WTC both were from Atlantic City.

I'm wondering if you could apply the rub to the bacon. Too fatty for bark to set, you think?

There's a local brand in my neck of the woods called Kitchen Cooked. Also cooked in lard. Can confirm, they are addictive. However, after having too many, your mouth feels like you just ate a candle.

Starting with a random 1130am start for FSU, not sure how that will effect Gameday

Gameday ends at 11:30.

What non Hokie game should we watch?

I'm at work, where there's TV but no cable, so I'm just gonna leave it on ABC with the two state of Oregon invading Michigan games bookending Notre Dame decimating C-ville.

I'm also gonna keep an eye on ECU at Florida, ESPN2 at 7pm. Both to see what we're up against, and how ECU fares against a Power 5 team not named Virginia Tech.

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — The manager of three southwest Missouri radio stations has apologized and disciplined a pair of talk show personalities for suggesting that the on-air killings of two Virginia journalists were a hoax.

There is a special place in hell for these idiots and their followers. I was glad to see all the support at the game Monday for the victims.

I'm not certain I've ever had a non-Crab Chip Utz. But damn do I miss those.

Oregon gave up 42 points to Eastern Washington. They better shore their defense up or Michigan State will run them out of town.

I find it very interesting that OSU fans thought Brewer was being "cocky". I'm pretty sure the players (who gloated on twitter) represent the gold standard of cockiness. Cockiness is more related to "I'm so much better than you are" than "I'm going to roll with the punches". Brewer was not trying to say that OSU hits softly, he was just trying to say that he is going to do everything he can do stay in the game.

then that's not just small schools is it? that is a big P5 school holding one in an area outside of their school on another campus.

I think all camps should be held on campus and be required that everyone that attends camp must also take a tour of university and a presentation on academics.
