Furman University Palladins. Their big thing is yelling "F U!" in call and response style at home games, like our "Let's Go" . . . "Hokies!" Only theirs used to be led by the university president, if you can imagine that. Furman's a small school, but their fans do enjoy having a good time, as tube top girl and giraffe guy so aptly demonstrate :)

Not sure if anyone already said this, though I have seen a great many comments on how the game would be different if Brewer didn't get taken out of the game as soon as he did.

I have no doubts it would have been a close game, and potentially VT wins it by not much. See, the thing is, with Brewer in the game, our offense was clicking, and it was keeping us in the game longer. The defense had their issues, but the biggest thing is, the pressure would have remained on OSU. Maybe it's a back and forth scoring for a little bit. Maybe it's not. Brewer was doing a great job of running the offense and making the right choices. Brewer maybe doesn't hand the ball off to Coleman when he fumbled the ball. Brewer maybe doesn't try to throw the ball downfield for an interception the way Motley did. Those are two turnovers that deflated the team, and an offense that was deflated because there seemed to be no real gameplan in action for Motley, or at least one he wasn't able to handle with the pressure forced upon him.

The biggest player we couldn't lose and still have a chance to win the game, was the player we lost. Brewer went down and the whole team deflated. They started to look like a team that didn't feel that they could win. With Brewer in, they looked like a team that was getting into a groove.

That being said, we lost, and it happens. There are a few games to find a groove for our back up QBs and the rest of the team to pick themselves up and start dominating everyone else.

Any chance we can get Leal back? Leal QB1, Motley can still come in for some read option plays, Lawson moves to #3 WR, Sam can replace Moto at MLB, Durkin replace Sam at FB/Do it all player...problem solved?

Fair enough, but by all accounts he is decent person, a good student, albeit a bit of a joker. We put these kids on a pedestal and everything they say or do is hashed out on the internet. The good things go unnoticed but slip up once, and you will never live it down. He hasn't got in trouble, doesn't taunt other players or act like he is special. I'll take hime over some other big name quarterbacks who seem to think they are bigger than the game or the school he represents and has the privilege of playing for.

My take:

he's a competitor who wants to fire up his team. I would hope our guys fettle same way. Personally, I think these kids should be given some privacy and not have everything they say broadcast to the world. I thought his " Urban dodged a bullet" comment was pretty spot on as well. I hope he recovers quickly and has a great year.

As for the OSU 'fans" that mock his injury I, as many of my fellow OSU fans know, were disgusted by the low class comments. We have our share of idiots and it hurts me to see a school I love be associated with them.

Glad to hear that you met our fans (instead of our trolls)!

Welcome to TKP and have a leg. Enjoy yourself and make some friends and learn ALOT about Hokie football.

I'm sure it'll look great...on my computer. Looks like it's espn3 and the laptop this week.
