So do mistakes by the safeties in run support and their were plenty of those in that 4 game stretch too.

Troy Pride seems to be interested in some....UT and ND to be more specific....
Slightly worried at this stage....

Whoever said that since they won they can talk, good for them. It takes at least a little humility to understand when you're getting what you deserve.

It takes, I think, just about as much to resist dishing out the smacktalk as it does to take it when you deserve it.

Let them puff their chests out. Pride has a funny way of sneaking back up on you.

I've been thinking about this concept for a little bit now and I have started to adopt a different perspective. I've heard it a number of times from a number of places, GuitarMan, so this isn't directed at you specifically, but you gave me a phrase I've been waiting for. The phrase was, "best chance to win"... maybe I'm nitpicking.

I'm not in the boat that we should always play that guy.

Taken literally, if a guy gives you 99% chance to win, it's better than a guy who gives you a 98% chance to win. At some point, I think the best-chance-to-win is a minimization-of-risk-strategy, where the introduction of risk forces us to win or suffer a loss. Introducing a little risk to challenge our guys...isn't a bad thing. [Note: The best coach at challenging his players like this? Les Miles.]

But there are points where a few percent chance of loss doesn't really matter. The 99%/98% scenario is an extreme example, but I think we should challenge our guys more than we do, and I think it pays off.

Yep, we need to hang around until Bama stops returning his texts. They may already have.

Plus, I think that Glennon would have been as successful if not more successful than his younger brother if he

A.) had a competent OL and
B.) didn't have TT breathing down his neck. Since he knew he was going to be yanked if he made the wrong decision, he didn't make any and ended up holding the ball until he was crushed by the defense.

Hehe I'm choosing to believe this is true

Rich Rod failed at Michigan for a variety of reasons, but here are two.

A thing that is not his fault
The Michigan boosters expected a lot of long-held, but silly, traditions to be adhered to. Rich Rod either didn't know about them or didn't prioritize them (ex: best receiver wears #1). They didn't like him because Michigan alumni represent the popular opinion of Michigan football circa 1910.

A thing that is definitely his fault
Rich Rod insisted on a 4-2-5 defense. That's right. 2 linebackers in the Big Ten. The conference that values 3-yards-and-a-cloud-of-dust. 2 linebackers. That's his own damn fault.

Side note: Lloyd Carr left him talent, but not talent to run his option offense. He had to recruit for that system, and his dream was only brought to fruition the year after he left when his talent had developed to the point where he could run his system, which his successor rode all the way to the F***ING SUGAR BOWL.

The problem is his mistakes often lead to touchdowns by the other team. If he's a baller them he needs to show it in the games not just practice. I want him to succeed and hope he comes out against furman and blasts them.

Everyone got trashed by Miami. Everyone read's French's articles and decides he his just the worst thing ever and always plays badly but if that were the case then Foster would see that too and pull him. There is a reason he led the team in tackles when he was starting. He has made some mistakes but he is a baller.

Improvement and straight up making Furrman their bitch on, all over, and off the field. Improvement with Motley so that he can take the 4th qtr off. No less than 100 yds rushing and 2 TDs from JCC with better ball protection. Improvement from our defensive secondary (we know and believe what they are capable of) particularly at the safety position (looking at you Frye and Stroman). Moto needs to be replaced. Also, improvement and more use of Hodges. This will be the game to do it. I wasn't all that impressed with McMillan. I'll give him one more chance. Improvement from the WRs. Ford recovered nicely with that TD catch but Philips...facepalm. Supposed to go fwd NOT backwards. Wth was he thinking!? So far unimpressed with Zohan but hopefully gets better.

Win comfortably, play every player that is dressed, and nobody gets hurt.

I could hear those in North. We were still trying to be loud until maybe 10 minutes left in the 4th. And most people stayed until 3 minutes left.
