Wait, just got back from the game. What is up with Brewer?
Tough kid. He struggled a bit with timing early tonight, but the offense with a good run/pass mix was rolling right up to the injury.
I just don't like losing by 18 at home and only hearing osu love the whole time. I want our guys to be respected for their efforts on national tv, not acting like they weren't even in the game or mentioning the starting qb breaking his collar bone.
Honestly this isn't me being a sore loser either, just unhappy with ESPN's coverage.
Appreciate you guys having us obnoxious Buckeyes around here. I really think this is a great blog and I really appreciate your guys' insight, you're a great bunch. I plan on sticking around and following VT's season. A program I have a lot of appreciation for. We're merely 1-1 now.
I don't disagree. Awful tough though that last year they were a sieve and this year they are much better and one bad play costs them the QB. Game of inches isn't just a cliche.
And its a discredit to us for Fowler and Herbie to say this is anOSU making an opening statement. Different ball game if Brewer never got injured. That shouldn't be discredited at all.
Good ol' ESPN, creating the news.
OSU didn't exactly air it out tonight. They had some explosive plays and the offense couldn't stay on the field.
Well starting tomorrow, it is.....

That was one of the toughest halves of football I've watched in a while. We had this game. I will go to my grave believing Brewer would have led us to a W. But that doesn't change anything.
Motley was outmatched. No guarantee he's any kind of answer.
From what I saw tonight, we have a run game. And thank God, because that's what we need against Furman, Purdue and ECU.
Defense is legit. Front four are evil. Motu is a weak link. Against most of our competition I think he'll be serviceable. Secondary got caught out of position a couple times, but really only after the wheels came off.
It's all about the QB now. I still think there is a 0% chance of a Lawson redshirt now.
Didn't expect to have a QB controversy this year. Hope Brewers surgery goes well, we're praying for you buddy. Time to get our next QB ready for Furman. Go Hokies!
DBU got burned today... Dline held their own... TE's played well... RB's played well... QB up for grabs... would really like to see what this Lawson kid is all about at this point. BTW we get Shai Mckenzie Back!!
Geezus Wheezus - Braxton Miller has got the goods.
"One breakdown"?
I would say that might have been the play where the Hokies lost any chance to win the game.
Not trying to be argumentative but how in the world is this mostly Lefty's fault? Other than the last drive against OSU's backups, when did Motley show that he can competently execute on offense? Couldn't throw against uva last year, couldn't throw in the second half of this game. Brewer looked great. For a quarter and a half Motley looked pretty bad (to put it nicely). D gave up 500+ yards. Again, unless you're GT running the option all game, it's pretty tough to put points on the board when your offense is as one-dimensional as ours was in the second half. Can't put this on Loeffler.
Math fail...
If anyone is looking for someone to blame then you should be looking at the student conduct board that kicked Reavis out of school. DBU took a HUGE hit with him being sent packing. Because our secondary couldn't lock down the bear was vulnerable. That and moto was no where he was meant to be.
But I say again, a loss against the #1 when we are unranked with our starting QB knocked out of the game does NOT make a season.
Come on man..we lost our starting QB. This is no way 2005 Miami.
If anOSU lost all of their QBs including Miller to injury, this game would be even.
The sting from this is our offensive talent depth not matching anOSU talent depth.
And its a discredit to us for Fowler and Herbie to say this is anOSU making an opening statement. Different ball game if Brewer never got injured. That shouldn't be discredited at all.
Did Facyson even appear on the screen at all tonight? I didn't hear is name, which is usually good when talking about a DB.
Fuller did not have a good game.
Not writing off the season. But this isn't just an offensive worry without Brewer at QB. The defense just gave up 567 yards, and our D is supposed to be pretty damn good this year. I know OSU is the defending Nat Champ, but we've got issues in a lot of areas.
Lefty is going to get a ton of negative attention about this being year 3 and things not progressing along like we would all expect. The problem is that he will, once again, be working with a "new" QB and will have to make major adjustments to the system that he would otherwise like to be running. I'm not sure all of that negativity will be warranted.
We were down 25 so it would have been 17.
The season is far from over guys. That was by far the best offensive team that Tech has played in the Beamer era but I'm really not sold on Motu.
Who knows what happens if Brewer doesn't get injured, I am honestly hoping that Lawson is the starter in his absence.
We should win the rest of the OOC games at least, no excuses not too whatsoever.
The season begins today. It does not end today. Ohio State is a pretty good team (time will tell if they are great though). The Offense showed that it has potential and it's as good a guess as any anyone could make, I say we left two TD's on the field. That would have made it a different game for our D too. With Brewer out the team will have to find a way. Don't look down, look forward and pull an Ohio State 2014 and a Virginia Tech 2010.
Prediction, OSU doesn't repeat.
God bless the penisman.

"6) Mike linebacker and rover are major worries, and Donovan Riley getting so little playing time after playing well in camp was really confusing."
I'm glad to hear that my observations were not unfounded, as AM looked to me the same as spring game - quick enough, but never near the ball carrier - instinct thing or something like that - Lydon, to me looked good in spring game - but we will see. Also RVD did not impress either.
