VT should clean it up and allow students/fans/alum to start a tradition of jumping in, like anOSU does.
Hopefully MV7 gets to play in meaningful games . He has plenty left in his tank to help a team out.
I expected that from him right out of high school. He was an incredibly productive defensive end in high school. He hasn't produce as much with his pass rush as I expected. If he can add the pass rush to his game, it is a huge plus.
Drink.
Scot knows his offense inside and out, and the dude's wicked smart. But the problem the last two seasons has been translating his smarts onto the field. I hope that this is the year he turns the corner, and I think if he ever does turn the corner he is going to field one badass offense. But I'll admit I'm worried that what he's trying to do might just not translate to the college game. We'll see. Fingers crossed hardcore.
I hope he does well. I've wanted him to succeed in the NFL for a long time.

# | Virginia Tech Open Scrimmage No. 2 Thoughts, Plus a Conversation with Scot Loeffler If Carroll can get open, catch the ball, and get up field, then he should be our 3rd receiver. That is what apparently the other scholarship guys cant do for whatever reason. I was reading in another thread that his size would hurt during blocking, but he wont be on the field every play. Bucky or one of the other TE's will be in the slot a lot of the time. Carroll can make an impact and probably will.

Allow me to reiterate what you said, emphatically - DO NOT GO IN THE DUCK POND. Scenic, beautiful, not safe. The list of bacteria reads like a who's who of what you don't want near or in your body.

As a Highty Tighty rat, I drank from a pipe near the duck pond after a particularly hot band practice down there. Looked like clear water, used to water stock, we figured it came from a spring. By the time the upperclassmen saw what we were doing, it was too late. This was before the day of bottled water and even much awareness of dehydration, so it wasn't as stupid as it sounds now. We were seriously thirsty. Two nights in the infirmary, and the most thorough purge from every orifice later, it became a lesson learned. A dip in the Duck Pond could be about like a dip in Rio right now. I shudder to think, I pity the fool.
Two points:
1) Don't forget how poorly we are at bringing down a good running qb when he scrambles and we are in man coverage - that has been an achille's heel for years now.
2) Since your post says "this is how OSU beats us" - I think EVERYONE seems to be talking about Foster's Dplan, when IMO, equally as important in our win last year was our offense's ability to convert 3rd downs and score early - so that's another way for them to beat us - hold us early and the air will leak out of the stadium.

I would like to see Baron in the game often in third & long situations and two minute defense. He is very tough to handle in pass pro.

Man I want to meet you and talk beer someday. I worked at the Home Republic in Virginia Beach for a little while, mainly just cleaning out the tanks, but helped brew a couple times. The whole process is fascinating to me.
Thats really cool. I remembered you mentioning something about wanting to go storm chasing or something like that so I figured the picture was from you or someone you knew

The wife and I (87/86 grads) will have our Hokie behinds parked on the couch here in Peru screaming our fool heads off, much like the locals whenever the Peruvian national team plays soccer. Nobody will care about our noise, Latinos are uber-passionate about their favorite sport and scream at televisions regularly.
Y'all give those Buckeyes a warm Blacksburg welcome, right up until the game begins when you get to enjoy their salty tears once again.
Several Things:
- I want to play football for Scot Loeffler
- This video got me almost as hyped as any pump-up trailer so far
- That practice facility is sick-nasty cool looking
- Don't tell me that we have better options at OC than this guy
If Hansen or McLaughlin went out, do you think Osterloh would replace him or would Conte move over with Osterloh taking his spot?
