Basketball, sure... but that shit ass UVa football program that has finished bottom of the Coastal, for the majority of the past 5-10 years... That has to counterbalance a lot of it. Sure, they have baseball, and lacrosse, but those don't drive revenue sales, and aren't high visibility sports....

I dunno, I just don't get it. The more I see these contracts come out, the worse and worse our extension looks. We literally left millions on the table.

We're in the same boat. Took me forever to just get started. I think you can only watch things that are posted after you've added the vtfootball account. There was nothing posted when I joined, but a few hours later they had a video up, so I'm assuming there's no retroactive function. If someone who's young enough to get off my lawn wants to correct me, please feel free!

Finally broke down and got snap chat solely for this. Problem is it makes no sense to me haha. Probably took me five minutes just to find out how to search and add vtfootball. Now I can't figure out how to watch any videos. Do I need to wait until they post a new one or can I go and watch old ones?

Sorry, at 25 years old I'm clearly way too old to figure out snapchat.

"I thought that for whatever it was, CJ handled it in a classy way and took the high ground on the way out, so hopefully he can get back on his feet and he's a heck of a football player," said athletic director Whit Babcock.

classy way and took the high ground.. hmm sounds like Whit didn't agree with the situation either.

I'm not concerned at all, I just think it's bad PR. UT sells out their share almost immediately. VT sits on tickets that will no doubt be sold but are reserved for a select subset of the fan base. Seems like a bad policy. I know Whit and the people in the ticket office have their reasons, it just doesn't seem logical to me.

I'll happily wait my turn once Oct. 1 rolls around; as soon as this game was announced I had a commitment from some friends that we would get tickets. We're ready and eager to buy.

Something else to consider. The risk/reward of playing VT is not as favorable as it once was. OSU can tell you that firsthand. Beating us is not considered a quality win and losing to us is considered a bad loss. The difference between us and UVA is that UVA is a P5 cupcake (more attractive than a P5 trap game). VT needs to BECOME the team that puts butts into other team's home seats. We aren't that team anymore, but I think we are not far off from becoming the team other conferences crave to play with the dream (silly dream) of beating us.

Like guitarman said below, VT has been sitting on these tickets for a year and a half. They should have been sold out a year ago. Meanwhile Tenn. fans are foaming at the mouth waiting for the next round of tickets to be sold and we are still trying to get rid of HALF of our first batch. To me, that shows that VT screwed this up.

Just makes it look so, so, so much worse that Jim Weaver's last act as AD was to extend our contract like he did on his way out the door.

Sorry, no way that UVa should have an apparel deal thats essentially twice as valuable as ours. Fucking pathetic.

Trey was ahead of him last year despite JC being healthy and Trey being banged up. It took season ending injuries from McKenzie, Williams, and Edmunds plus a cameo from Joel Caleb before JC got back into the lineup.

JC played terrific football, however, don't discount how much better the run blocking was during that stretch versus early in the season. I appreciate the heck out of JC's work load, and I admire him because, after that Pitt game, I would have told you he would never play another down at VT, and he got his mind right and stepped up when he had an opportunity. But, if the OL can provide the same degree of blocking, I am pretty convinced that a 100% Edmunds is a better all around running back.

UA and Adidas would probably drive differentiation across football and other sports

I for one think that stuff like wrestling, girls soccer, our proximity and importance to NOVA WASH BALT markets....

If we make all three vendors compete and we get innovative in our use of the uniforms... these things should be a huge piece of change that has been a long time coming

agree here. basketball is Nike's saving grace when it comes to brand awareness. UA and Adidas are ruining Nike in football

The only thing I didn't like about that play is it should have been Walter Payton that scored that TD. Biggest game of his life and he didn't make it in the endzone. Ditka said that was his biggest regret. He didn't know that Walter hadn't scored, if he had known this picture would have been of #34.
