# | E:60 - Deconstructing DeAngelo Hall airs tonight (8/11/2015) at 8pm EDT Unfortunately, with Bill Simmons parting ways with ESPN, the production value of these segments might actually significantly decrease. The guy might be a total douche in the way he acts on air and the self serving name dropping ways of his articles, but he was the driving force behind 30 for 30 and I believe these E:60 segments. With him gone, they're going to struggle to find a suitable replacement.

Lol, ESPN is certainly having fun with this. On the Mike and Mike broadcast on ESPN2, they are talking to Ryan Clark over the phone about the incident. The whole time they are showing a compilation of Geno getting sacked, intercepted (one by B. Flowers), and fumbling, and showing a photo montage with a picture of Geno clutching his jaw with a towel. Talk about adding insult to injury.

Gotta say that everything (with the one exception of the Len Bias 30 for 30) that ESPN has produced in the past few years has been stellar. I've even gotten my wife to watch ESPN stuff with me that's not live sports. Extremely impressed with them, and they may be one of the best produced sets of shows out there now. Not the shock and awe of Hard Knocks, not the free advertising the some of the pieces on 60 Minutes has turned into. Just good stuff.
Calling them neanderthals is a bit much. These are people who play a sport that many people enjoy watching, including yourself, and just because they are big and do things that you may not do does not mean, in any way, that they are less intelligent. They sure were smart enough to figure out how to make their talent and skills better than more than 99% of football players and get paid millions of dollars to play a game. Are there some idiots in the NFL? Of course but there are idiots everywhere.

I know Whit has said the schedule is mostly set for the next couple of years, but I would be trying to work out something a little better. Maybe a one off or home-and-home with Vandy, UK, Indiana, etc.
Also, I know everyone is excited for the Battle at Bristol, and it is a pretty unique, novel idea. But I am a much bigger fan of the traditional home-and-home series with teams than neutral sites.

There is a lot more nuance and strategy beyond just turning left. You're driving right on the edge of running into the wall (tight) or spinning out (loose) and it takes a lot of skill to control and communicate to the pits what changes you need to make the car faster.

2016: Liberty, East Carolina, Georgia Tech, Miami, Boston College, Virginia
2017: Delaware, Old Dominion, Duke, North Carolina, Pittsburgh, Clemson
The home schedule in 2016 is very weak. 2017 is a bit better with the addition of Clemson. Of the 12 games played at Lane in 2016-17, just three (Georgia Tech, Miami, and Clemson) seem appealing enough to merit a time slot other than noon or noon:30.
