CenturyLink is the corporate sponsor of the stadium. They are a pretty large landline phone/internet service provider. But, excellent architectural analysis. I've always loved how steep the stands are at Lane compared to old style bowl stadiums like the Big House, LA Coliseum, etc. Definitely seems more imposing from the field and holds in the noise. I would really like to see, down the road, the NEZ expanded to trap in more noise and close in that part of the stadium more. Any thoughts on what possibly could be done there? I know space and the new video screen are obstacles to renovation. Seems to me we could maybe remove the current bleachers and make a similar concrete structure, and put a very wide upper deck or mezzanine on each side of the screen connecting with the West and East sides and built level with the top of the screen.
I am sure the players sign some stuff that says their likeness may be used in promotional things for the school and the departments as well as announcements about their status. Seeing that the video doesn't reveal anything that hasn't already been released(he is rehabing a publicly known injury), I think it would be ok.
I would think the closest thing to a HIPPA concern would be announcing a player's injury diagnosis publicly.
I love the totally genuine "How you doin' Randy?" He just throws out mid-rant at 0:35
I remember a few days after the shooting, Ohio State wore VTs on their helmets during their Spring Game. I gained a huge level of respect for them after that.

Ohio State's not-forgotten tribute to Virginia Tech in the wake of tragedy
My thought as well!
vtfootball has done a pretty good job of snapping a lot of the practice - it's been pretty cool so far seeing the work going in.
LOVE that he is rocking the 56 in his email addy.
For those who cannot watch it live, it looks like ESPN has an easily accessible archive system.
So I remember hearing he was working at Michigan State now... I googled his name and this popped up.

Please check out his email address, we need to bring him back to VT in a similar role and have him work with Student Athletes!!! I wonder if the kids who he is advising on a daily basis have any clue what a bad mother effer he used to be on the football field? My guess is no.

Is it just me, or are there any HIPA concerns with the video. I guess if he knows it's going to get posted, and says it's ok, then, well, it's ok.

Yeah we definitely aren't hurting for backfield depth. I'm pretty excited to see how Peoples develops in the FB role. Him surpassing Wright so quickly came as a bit of a (pleasant) surprise to me.
I agree with all of that, and I think besides what you stated above, it's the O-lines for both teams control this game. If anyone can establish a running game, I think that decides the victor.
It sounds like I need to get a Snapchat account. I understand going mostly horizontal but a cometely lateral step can easily be ome backwards step. I am not a fan of putting guys in a position where they are stepping laterally or even backwards against a DL that gets a good jump on the ball or a blitzing LB. in that situation it doesn't matter who the OL is... they are going to get driven into the backfield.
Taking a step somewhat upfield, even if slight gives you a chance against a stunt or blitz... We might not get the reach quite as often but it will limit the negative plays. Either way, if we are good enough up front to get movement consistently the running game will be effective. I don't want to see us fighting to reach a defender that is trying to string the play out, drive him the direction he is already going and let the backs make a cut.
I love how we are debating if guys who tore their ACLs 9 and 10 months ago should redshirt and Bama has a guy who tore it in spring they were expecting back week 4?
In a serious note, we have a stable of backs outside of them. JC, Trey, Trayvon, DJ Reid, Peoples, McClease and Fox likely redshirting. Rogers will likely be moved out of the RB role more.
Team managers, friends of player ?????
touche!
Last year there was a B1G crew, so I would assume this year's meeting will feature an ACC crew.
Labor day in a nutshell. Leg for you!
Aye, is it supposed to be knee rehab in the title?
or a player at NCSU...
he 62-bed facility, to be named Case Commons Residence Hall, will be inhabited by athletes and other students. Since 1996, NCAA rules have specified that residence halls have to be occupied by at least 51 percent non-athletes. The change represented an attempt to do away with special perks in athletic dorms that were not available to other students.

Interesting.
So they just make the other inhabitants serious lottery winners.

I said "most notable." Sure they have all of those things and yes I envy them for that. But all anyone ever talks about with Oregon is the jerseys. Even when Mariotta was winning a Heisman, it was Jameis with the headlines.
