The New Orleans VooDoo ceased operations.
Clearly VT is not afraid to take fashion risks......short-sleeve windbreaker anyone?

Cassel getting the nod, T mobile 2nd for 1st preseason game...

I would imagine they still sell out any arena they play
I'll be honest with you, my answer was drenched in VT kool aid and bama/sec hate. So yes, I took an article with rankings that mean absolutely nothing while being bored at work and called out SEC bias where VT wasnt ranked 1st because Go Hokies.
you know cinci had 489 yards and 345 yards passing despite having their #1 qb knocked out of the game. We did a good job of keeping them out of the end zone, but saying we shut them down is a stretch.
Every team has injuries during the year. Maddy and faycson are the only two i'd even bother bringing up. MLB is definitely a concern for us, whip will be an unproven player despite all the hype built up around RVD the last 3 years and who knows how much we even use the position and both safety spots are going to have new starters at that position.
That is good. I only made it to 1 game last year and it was the Miami game so I have done what I can to block that memory out.
They have actually started letting it play longer the last few seasons. Has been fading out right around when the vocals start, then the band starts up "Tech Triumph."
It was a pleasant read. It is hard to touch on many of the places to visit in a short article but they did a nice job.
Agree across the board, and it sounds good, but the plays I am seeing on video clips are still more horizontal blocking-wise. And, that isn't a bad thing IF the OL can stay on their angle and the backs see the cutback lanes (see Humes, Cedric.) Both Trey Edmunds and Travon McMillian look like they are seeing holes really well based on the few clips that I have watched.
When he's not watching chick flicks, he also runs triathlons. And ladies, he's single!

I think our case of having 8 returning starters on a defense that finished 11th in defensive S&P+ says quite a bit, especially when you consider key pieces (Ekanem, Fuller, Maddy, Marhsall, Williams) either played hurt or missed considerable time due to injury. It doesn't hurt that our last appearance was us shutting down a pretty good (top 25 S&P+) Cincinnati team. Point is, I don't see many glaring weaknesses in our team - possibly at MLB, but I see at least one in Bama's - the secondary.
easily with 1 returning starter playing the same position as last year? I'm a clark fan but he'll be at a new position rover or free, a brand new starter at the other safety spot and Brandon faycson will be rusty as well.
Look! A large bowl of lemonade.
Their defense isn't designed to have great pass rushers. Every defense has their weakness. We get beat up by the power run constantly.
To be fair, they still fire it off in the stadium before the game so they could still fire it in the stadium during touchdowns. I am guessing is there needs to be enough room in front of the cannon for safety and they don't have that much room with the stands close to the field and all the media folks around it.
They stop it so that the band on the field, most often being the HTs, can play the fight song.
Pretty sure that's the hologramed tupac from a couple years ago
It would be much better if it was a complete surprise.
"I missed you Mama Speed!!!"
Only local recruits came to Thursday night games. They were not as big of a recruiting deal as they were a national brand recognition deal. Now you compete with the NFL on Thursdays for that spotlight so it's time to move away from Thursdays, like it or not. You want a big night for recruiting, you get the Saturday night slot.
There would be riots in Columbus if they didn't. They did some pretty bad stuff and some band members need to be kicked out if the were involved in it, IMHO, but TBDBITL will go forward under new direction who I hope will end the nonsense and get it back on track.
As for the lawsuit,I can't see how Waters thought it would help his case for reinstatement. That wasn't happening, and firing him was justified based on my read of the reports; so I am at loss on what he hoped to gain other than a settlement. Given a settlement would have fueled the Bring JW Back crowd not settling made sense, especially since JW would be cast in a bad light as more stuff came out.
to be fair when they are playing them they are playing what are statistically some of the top offenses in the country. not like they are just playing unc.
what do you think other schools think about VT being #2? We return a good portion of studs, but also have plenty of question marks ourselves and are counting on two former studs to be back to form after missing a year with injury. we were only 21st last year in total defense and 14th in scoring defense.
Grady Jarrett was a manimal. Reminded me a lot of Luther Maddy.

You're acting like Miami doesn't pull in talent. I don't know why that is because even with all of the disadvantages Miami is at, kids still want to play for them more than 757 kids ever have for us. Even after sucking for a decade Miami still pulls in top 15 classes. We do not have the same problems Miami does. We have the exact opposite problems.
Like it or not Miami is still cool, and kids want to play there. All it will take is a semi competent coach to put two and two together.
