...Lawson was taking too many steps before making the handoff.

He's gotta learn the fundamentals before that can happen. Needless to say, when Lefty thinks he's ready to go in, I'm going to be screaming like a school girl with excitement. Until then, I'll trust Lefty on this one.

If any Richmond-area folks enjoy Goses, Hardywood released a fantastic one this past Saturday. A Watermelon Gose.

I recommend DVRing the games, leaving your cell phone at home, and wearing UVA gear to work. UVA fan gear is designed to absorb all football talk and convert it to an undeserved sense of accomplishment and self-worth. It will also prevent you from making friends that might accidentally tell you football scores. This way you can't find out the score even if you go through hokie-withdrawl.

That was a fantastic festival. Definitely one of, if not the best one I've been to.

Im so excited about the direction our team is headed! Also, if you took a TL;DR approach to this article, you at least need to read this segment:

As far as Coach's future, there's nothing been determined on that at all. We'll cross that bridge when we come to it. Whenever that day comes, we'll do what we feel like is best for Virginia Tech. But, and Coach said this in a certain way the other day, and I liked it: Just like in a season, you can get too far ahead of yourself about what might happen, and I think it's a disservice to our team and our fans to be looking anywhere beyond this year. ... He's doing a great job, he's our coach and I sincerely do not know when that time is up. But between the two of us, I'm confident we'll get it right. Shoot, do I think about it? Of course, and we'll have a plan. But I also have faith that things will work out the way they're supposed to be. But what I want to do for him is support him in every way possible, honor his career and what can we do to finish, whenever that may be, on the right note. And I don't know that there's a manual for that. But he and I have built trust, and we talk often, and he's ready to coach. So I'm not going to get all hung up on what-ifs right now.

When I first moved to Russia I tried to watch a replay of the games the next morning (games range from 10pm here to 6am) and I found myself just fast forwarding through most of the game because I was more interested in the outcome at that point. Now I just bite the bullet and either stay awake for it or wake up early. I am in the minority on this but I always pray for noon games because that is Saturday night prime time for me.

I was gonna use the same quote. Its really encouraging to hear how hard these guys work on their own time. It really increases my level of respect for them. These are the kinds of things angry doom and gloomers need to be reminded of when calling for players heads during the season. You know, the kind that boo when a player takes the field. Man that pisses me off.

But even in my career coming up, that was one thing that I did pause and think on and say, you know, that No. 10 jersey we're selling at Missouri, Chase Daniel's jersey, that's solely because of him. So that one kind of resonated with me. And I'm embarrassed to tell you, I have not, I did a while back, but I have not gone to the bookstore to check, or ask, but I'll make sure we do that. It's safer and better just to do No. 1, or if you have a championship in a certain year do that, but not to reflect the numbers of the players until we get that piece figured out.

Buy your jersey now people.

I completely agree. As far as the delusion goes, I eat it up. The only reason anOSU fans even care about this game is because we took them down in their house by 14. The fans screaming that the final score will be 50-3 are mostly doing it out of hope for revenge and anger than actually having any sense of what is going on.

major position of need. we lose dadi this year, possibility of ken leaving early (low % IMO), top backup seth dooley has played almost no significant snaps although he's been hyped up again this offseason (recall last year he was ahead of ken ekanem in some people's eyes), vinny mihota moved over from DT and most think he moves back there if we have sufficient depth, trevon hill our top DE recruit last year is out after ACL surgery, houshon gaines could be a factor there but is a true freshmen and darrius fullwood may start there, but most assume he'll be a smaller hybrid DT as well. Not a lot to work with.
