# | Maddy and Dadi: Atlantic HS Duo Bound by Haitian Roots, Excellence on the Defensive Line Congrats!!

A foregone conclusion gets old, but their tears taste so sweet every time!
I'm not saying ban fcs teams. Im not saying we should stop playing the ecus and Marshalls and odus of the world. But as an alum trying to find a reason to justify buying season tickets, and I'm sure as a recruit looking to play at a program, is hard to get excited about playing a fcs team, ecu every year, AND odu on a regular basis. Iowa is probably a bad example I used, but after scheduling our fcs team and ONE of ecu/Marshall/odu/the like, we should try to fill the schedule with more p5 teams. I'd love it to be more Penn St/ umd/ wvu/ Tenn or whatever, but I get scheduling can be an issue. After big regional p5 schools, go after at least teams that are new and have some national interest or at least recognition to them. Outside of va do people even know where odu is or that its even a fbs team?
BJ Raji anyone?

I wish more fans read that.
Man, all these years I thought you could only play with 11 on defense.. when, in fact, we've been playing with 12!
Interesting to see that Coleman still doesn't have first string outright..
anyone else notice that hughes is our back up kicker? I mean, not a huge need for depth there, but you'd think if we had two kickers on scholarship, they'd end up being #1 and #2 instead of the fourth down quarterback punter being 2nd string.
Man, they must be real high on Rock Johnson. Number two at the boundary day 1!
Also, "ROLB" instead of whip... interesting
Can he still run that 4.4 at 275? We'd have to rename him Bullet Train.
Hi all
Thanks for all the kind words about the article. Made all the effort very worth it.
To answer a few questions I saw up there all in one go:
1. Maddy and Dadi both brought up the idea of going back to Haiti independently when I asked them about their futures, no prodding required. I only asked Maddy a follow-up question about the possibility of him and Dadi going back together someday.
2. I would've loved to delve into more of the pair's history in Haiti, but at 5,000 words, this one was already tipping the scales. Mark Giannotto of the Washington Post did a nice job covering some of that a couple years back:
http://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/colleges/virginia-techs-dadi-nicola...
3. I have indeed taken a new job up in DC, which will indeed precipitate a move up to NOVA and away from my current home in Hooville, and I'm pretty pumped about the whole thing. It won't have any effect on my work for TKP...unless of course Kevin Sumlin is willing to wheel the private jet out after all.
I am seeing a distinct lack of Settle on the depth chart.
I do not predict this to last long
Know a reason for the down numbers in attendance for that game? 11 in a row!

The ol' 4-3-5 defense.
Harry Lewis at OL?
The information overload since 3:15pm has been quite the rush I must say
McKinnon listed as 6' 1" and 275????? That's not a Backer, that's a DT!!!
Dahman McKinnon 4.4 speed at 275... hand that man the football!!!! Hahaha
Don't get me wrong, I love the game and time too, but most students aren't back on campus yet and a lot of people aren't going to be able to be able to make the trip down on that day

I don't mind VT playing them. It's just that playing both of them every year seems, well, excessive. Too much of a good thing, let's say. Alternate them.
