# | Maddy and Dadi: Atlantic HS Duo Bound by Haitian Roots, Excellence on the Defensive Line To give you a behind the scenes look, this feature took about 4 weeks to come together. A lot of that work was securing interviews from Coach Wiles, Dadi, Maddy and the duo's high school coaches. Alex actually wrote the entire thing last night and shared it with me at 2:30 AM. I got a message from him after his interview with Dadi yesterday morning, "(Dadi) says he wants to be a lawyer after football. I would LOVE to see Dadi Nicolas, Esq. someday." After I read that, I knew this was going to be a special feature. Koma crushed this, and it's one of the best things ever published on TKP.
Well, closing the scrimmages worked pretty well last year. Although now it looks like we might get at least 1 open one. It'll probably be a lot like the spring game - really basic looks, basic plays, nothing spectacular.

I cannot for the life of me understand why someone goes to UVA for Engineering. They used to have this incredibly arrogant (and completely false) saying: "VT produces engineers, and UVA produces Engineering Managers".

"We could not offer him until the board kind of shook out," Wiles said. "We had obligated some offers to some guys and it came down really to one linebacker who chose another school and that freed up a scholarship right toward the end of recruiting, and that enabled us to offer Luther as well."
Another example of our coaches doing it right... Never offer a kid a scholly, and then take it away.

Durkin isn't logan. Last I heard he was down to 220 lbs and it's not as if he's one of the strongest guys on the team or anything. Would rather utilize our running backs.
I agree 100%. I even dated one that spelled her name 'Tiffini'. Crazy hot, crazy sex, but in the end, just effin' crazy, period.

How would you compare Lawson and Deshaun Watson? Watson learned on the fly but Clemson looked like a completely different team when he was running the offense and healthy.
I debated for almost ten minutes whether to go video or GIF, at the the of the day I love classics, and this was just one of those scenes for me where I literally had to "hold on" not to pee. There are about 10 others in the original PInk Panther movies, another is the Gorilla car chase, but I will save for another day.
They're fun right up until they're not.
I can't imagine anyone here thinking Reavis should have gone, given that we don't know the circumstances.
But the bright side, if there is one to be found at all, is that VT has high standards of behavior, which are enforced.
This is a cautionary tale, and right now there is nobody on the football team (or any other athletic team at Virginia Tech) who can possibly believe that they will get special treatment from the Student Council or administration at VT.
A possible benefit from this might be that an athlete in a position to do something stupid weighs it and chooses not to.

I still have that same experience on my couch every season for most every game, ha.
I hope that Kevin Jones shares his experience in the NFL and lets guys know the real deal. Which I'm sure he and the coaches do. But having a guy who played fairly recently to help talk about that is critical I think. I would think they would have a scheduled brief by KJ every year to rising Juniors and seniors who are eligible to leave. Although there are some Hokies who have/had great careers in the NFL there are also a lot who have been derailed by injuries, RMFW, and very short stints. A ton of experience to draw from when/if they make the decision to leave early and how to handle whole process and instant increase funds. they sound like phenomenal individuals and I hope the do well in the NFL. Glad to hear they are looking past that though to life outside the NFL.
