I agree. Plus he went to the same university my parents went to...Bowling Green. He is a big Ohio State fan, but I won't hold that against him. He has fun doing his job.

Best post of the thread. I didn't even think to mention the impact on special teams. Reavis and Keihn were two of the principle young lions (athletic guys who can run and tackle) that made the Hokies punt and kick off coverage so so so much better this season. It was a far cry from watching Christian Jones and Will Lively lolly gag into the end zone on punts and kickoff returns in 2013.

Was anyone involved in the one in the fall of 1999? It started out as a cadet vs civilian fight than some random people not associated with this snowball fight decided to leave campus in their cars at the wrong time. Then proceeded to drive around the drillfield past the center of the action. Unfortunately for these folks there was no free pass as both sides turned on the vehicles until they decided to speed away. The last car happened to be some young chap with a fast & furious detailed car with the neon lights and the expensive sound system. He thought it was a smart move to stop the car, open the door(right in the middle, facing the snowball mob),raise is hand up in the air and yell 'What the fuck!!" After a brief pause, and silence by all, white hell rained down upon thee. If I am remembering correctly due to him exiting the vehicle and the low bucket seats it wasn't easy for him to close the door. This allowed for a large amount of snow to enter his vehicle and cover his body as well. After that the police/fire department came to disperse the unruly mob of snow throwers.

If it wasn't for that last guy, I wouldn't remember it so well but he made a lasting impression.

Was anyone else there for that?

I don't know, having kids seems like a very legitimate 3rd reason to me.

Yeah. I'm still staying cautiously optimistic. Nothing for me has changed so far, losing Bosa hurts as does losing 2 H-Backs but I'm still not sold on our offense. The fate of this game is completely controlled by the VT offense more than anything, and this news changes things a bit but not a huge amount.

I still expect a loss by a touchdown or so.

Welcome BS! I say tongue in cheek. I believe that most of us would like you at full strength but we have had a couple of set backs also. Everyone just wants to have the season begin. WE are bored with no outlet. You will love the B'burg experience. Welcome!

What is it about the beach that makes your body so able to handle more alcohol than normal? I've always said that there are two legitimate reasons to be drunk at noon: Hokie football and at the beach. We'll be in Avon, NC in a couple of weeks. Can't wait to drink something I can't get here at home.

We've gotten a lot of DE commits, and many are gonna redshirt. It would have been nice to get him, but I think Trevon HIll would have beaten him when he's fully healthy.

Sure, they've clearly got different skill sets, but that's not the point. I find it funny that Meyer is playing coy about who will start/be 1st string/whatever, when in reality it's just a token designation. You guys are blessed with two very talented QBs who can run the show. But Bud's basic concepts will not change - take away the run first (be it Elliott, Miller at HB, or Jones on zone reads) and test your WRs (and I believe you just lost a couple of these guys with today's news, leaving talented but untested backups) against our strength (though the relative strength of the DL vs. the DBs at this point is debatable; our backers are the biggest concern in my mind).

Didn't we kind of do that with Logan?

I mean I know he eventually signed off on it, but I thought he didn't want to move originally and we had to convince him to do it.

I mean, we've probably done this to a few kids here and there too... Well, maybe lie isn't a good word, but I can remember times where kids were not put in the positions they wanted to play.
