I was thinking the same thing. I'd be on the lookout for pitches / screens to miller where miller then tries to hit a deep threat by another receiver. Especially if Barrett is in as I don't think the old pass to the wr to then throw to the now open QB would be very effective with 12G in there. He's a bulldozer not a Porsche.
if dadi and ken can get drafted fairly high (4th round or better) I think Bud and co will have a much easier time navigating the negative recruiting about our scheme not getting DL to the NFL.
Because GT has had no success developing/getting WRs to the NFL despite their run first philosophy? Not like they have two of the top WRs in the NFL currently...

also for the part about killing it with 2-3 * talent who are the most successful RBs at VT over the last 10-15 years? Kevin Jones, Lee Suggs, David Wilson and Ryan Williams? 3 of the 4 were considered elite (top 50ish) athletes in the country. Not sure if the sites were around for lee suggs, but kevin jones was considered the #1 prospect in the country by some services.
edit: On suggs from hokiesports, " Ranked the No. 4 player in the state and the No. 19 running back in the nation by SuperPrep" which would most likely be a 4 star.
It's funny, because by the beginning of that #3yearplan he will have 1 career catch after sitting out the second year of the #2yearplan

Very positively. A number of us felt BM would make a switch to H back, based on his injury plus his ability to run is better suited for a WR/Back role in the NFL than as a QB. Overall, folks are just happy for him for what he accomplished and for sticking with the program when he had the chance to bolt.
I'm not so sure it makes it any easier. You know potentially have 2 throwing options in the backfield with Miller and JT/12 Gauge as well as a running threat with Miller / Zeke. This switch lets us get 2, instead of 1, of our best players on the field at the same time. The challenge is for him to develop quickly into a receiving threat since he hasn't played WR; as a punt returner he will be fun to watch.
This is missing the point entirely. Imagine you are an elite football player. Congrats you now have a 2% chance of making it to the NFL. You are about to move up into NCAA football with hundreds of other players that could be as good as you. Now in the face of that competition the very worst thing you could do is keep everything under the radar. If you are smart you promote your brand, and your brand is you. The more you are in front of cameras and press the better (for the right reasons) because that is going to mean more notice of you. You need to start that promotion early and continue it throughout your college career, because NFL is a name brand business. Their money is made in merchandising and your now famous name will bring them tens of millions, which in turn translates to millions to you.
If it wasn't like this then I would say holding a tv event for a university announcement would be dumb, but it's not. It is exactly like this and recruits need to be smart on how they take advantage of it and who is trying to take advantage of them.
I would say this last till about midway through the 2nd qtr on Labor Day when Dadi has knocked the 1st and 2nd stringer out of the game amirite?

In my experience, many Hokie fans know more about the Wahoo teams than the folks you see at the Food Lion wearing the scissor hats. I know I watch the 'hoos a lot. Rooting against a team you really wish ill for is the next step down from rooting for the Hokies. Same thing, to a lesser degree, for WVU and a handful of lesser evils. Gotta do something for that sports fix.
As an ex marching bandsman myself, I have to admit, that's pretty darned slick.
Props to you for your intrepid travels and pier travails. Hopefully, we'll both score today. Hoping for the big flounder.

Agree.....their band is pretty awesome at that stuff. I don't know if it's cause they are the only ones that get shown doing stuff but I haven't seen any other band do the things they do on the field.
