Yikes, whether he transfers or not, I hope Harris gets his off-the-court issues straightened out.
Also 170 lbs is not very much on a 6' 7" frame. Need to get him to Carol Lee's.
In regards where we are though, I would take three of the other four players in Whit's current class at Marquette before I would want Harris. Take it for what you will, flags like that are the kind of things that lead to programs getting violations down the road.
Great talent though.
Anytime you can get a Top 100 talent to come in. Take it. Especially after watching Will Johnston and Beyer log minutes this year.
I haven't read this yet but let me guess:
Spring preview of DBs: They're good.
This isn't that surprising to me, he was pretty much JJ's "baby." He never lacked in confidence, claiming that he was going to be a one and done. I guess that just meant with the program.
Just means that JVZ and CJ are probably the starters heading into the season now with Kirby and Marshall off the bench.
That's it. Thanks. Didn't see the second one.
If you're referring to this tweet:
Predicted Marquette commit Malek Harris to flip to Virginia Tech. Harris isn't a great shooter, but is very athletic and drives to the (1/2)— Matt Gravett (@GravettMatt) March 22, 2014
He goes on to say that its just a prediction:
.@mooof23 Just to clarify, it's a prediction. It hasn't happened yet.— Matt Gravett (@GravettMatt) March 22, 2014
He was leaving no matter what.
His dollars will go a lot further in the NRV than back in Milwaukee. Though I normally don't bother to read articles on basketball, I've been laughing at the comments on ESPN and SI.
Football will always be my favorite sport, but having a solid basketball program helps out Virginia Tech and its athletics department immensely. I'm very excited about the future for the Hokies!
Go HOKIES!
Far from the worst. Good school, talent rich area, great facilities, best basketball conference. AND ZERO EXPECTATIONS. If he makes us good, he'll be regarded as a genius.
What sickens me is that we spent just over half of what Marquette spent on basketball in 2013...we really need money to start flowing through Blacksburg!!
Trevor Thompson does not have a release yet to transfer from #Hokies, I'm told. Reportedly has decided to leave Tech program.— Mike Barber (@RTD_MikeBarber) March 22, 2014
Malek Harris would probably be the last guy I would want at Tech of all of Buzz's current recruits. Harris has had some serious disciplinary issues in high school, including being suspended 11 games his Junior year and suspended for his entire Senior season.
He is a major talent but I have to wonder with arguably less supervision if he will be able to stay out of trouble once he gets to college. Its obviously something Buzz thinks he can handle but I don't want to have another Jeff Allen type issue.

Now.. 3 years ago.. Cassell was packed and rocking.. I can see this happening again soon with Witt and Buzz now.
Kids, this is what it was like.. and this is what it will be like again:
Wow surprised by this. I thought of all our returning players Thompson would have benefited the most. **Buzz loves to work the ball inside to his big men to score on the offensive end of the floor. His current staff has been very successful in putting big men in the League.
This is what I Thought of when I saw the pop-up ESPN alert:
I think the goal is to try and get at least $100/yr from most of the alumni.
EDIT: deleted. question repeated. What the guy above me said.
Do you mean Buzz?
"Reports" are saying that Malek Harris might be coming with buzz to VT.
Wish Trevor the best of luck, too bad he didn't want to stay for the ride.
still some top players in the 2014 class...Buzz would definitely endear himself to hokie nation if he could pull off getting a great recruit this late in the game to take trevor's spot

Looks like the picture has been taken down. I wonder if that's a hint of things to come...
