We didn't fumble much last year.
I'm pretty sure the only fumbles lost by the offense were by LT3 (I can think of 2 against Pitt BC)..I don't think the RBs lost a single fumble all year though..that's a good stat to have..even if you're only running 120 yards a game
Edit: As it was pointed out below, the fumbles I was thinking of occurred against BC, not Pitt.
Football season demands that you correct your first statement.
March Madness is the best time of year though. More basketball games on TV than UVA had fans at their spring game.
This is exactly why I keep coming back here. Not just Joe, but the majority of posters are level headed and even-keeled. For the most part, each win is not met with "next stop National Championship!" and each loss isn't met with "the sky is falling!" The posters here have a firm grasp of reality.
Even other blogs have mentioned it. After the Duke loss, This Week in Schadenfreude had this to say:

# | Bitter blog - Trainer Mike Goforth gives some injury updates as spring ball approaches I think this is about as good of news as we could have heard. Nothing too devastating, with the possible exception of DVD. At the very least, the more major injuries are where we have a bit of depth and inexperienced talent (TE, RB, S) that could use the reps and experienced guys rehabbing who won't be set back too much by missing contact in the spring. The one thing that concerns me is, like Joe mentioned above, DVD was setting himself up for some playing time, and was in a position to possibly take over the backer spot. Hopefully he can get his knee right and, if one or both LB spots aren't locked down entering the fall, make a push to get on the field.
Is it ideal, nope, but the last third of the season will end up being competitive. Don't confuse that term with successful. That term still alludes JJ.

I understand this completely, and as I said, I accommodate best I can. What I don't want, is the police officer to come threaten to kick me out of the game if I don't sit down. It's not like the people behind me are saying, "Hey could you please sit down." and I'm telling them to eff off, so they have to go get the cops.
It's also not easy to get tickets in the "standing" section as a non-student. Also, it wasn't until the last few years that I've had issues with this and my friends. We've been in various sections where we've stood and brought excitement to the areas (we cheer and sing the songs and such) to the point we've been applauded by people around us, even those that sat and couldn't stand up. It's only been in the last couple of years (one the Clemson night game) where we've had issues. The last time it happened, though I'm in a group of my friends, I was the one person singled out to say I needed to sit down (all the friends I was with are 5'10" or shorter, I'm just shy of 6'3").
To relate it to ways to improve Lane:
There should be more than just "student section" and "everyone else". Maybe there should be more "standing" sections and "sitting" sections.
I agree that I think JJ will be back, but it pains me to read the words "late season push" followed by "to be competitive"

I LOVE this idea. Anything to make Lane a more family friendly experience is a really good idea so not all of the pre-game activities revolve around tailgaiting...as a 25-year-old, I don't give a shit but I'm sure when I bring my kids to lane stadium 20 years from now, I'd would be appreciate of it
I'm sure it's due to advertising and exclusivity contracts. I noticed watchespn only shows commercials for about 1/5th of a commercial break and it's generally the cable providers commercial.
They might also have contracts with cable and satellite providers not to offer it any other way. Notice how the main ESPN channels are only available, or "sponsored", by some providers.
