No practices, unannounced cancellations of coaches events, and we win.
Are we sure we're doing this hoop-sphere thing right?
Deangelo Hall, Brandon Flowers, Kyle Fuller, Macho Harris.
Personally, I don't like chrome helmets at all. But I like when VT wins best of all. So if the flashy uniforms and chrome helmets help attract talent to VT, and they produce on the field, I really don't mind.
I immediately recognized this as not the real thing due to it's lack of improper grammar.
"Loose one turn."
French, you responded to a post of mine! I feel honored. Really looking forward to the article tomorrow
Ford can move really well. He moves around the pocket, but his focus is on keeping his eyes down the field.
Let's give a really loose simile to describe the two. Andrew Ford is Rakeem Cato. He CAN hurt you running a read play once or twice, but ultimately he is more interested in throwing the football. He isn't going to be a guy who runs the read 10-15 times where he can take hits on those plays.
Meanwhile, Durkin is somewhat similar to CJ Brown. He is much more of a threat to run the ball multiple times, within the concept of the offense, and also look to run on broken plays. (Durkin is also much more physical than Brown.)
Tomorrow, we highlight Travon McMillian, who isn't just a great athlete playing quarterback. He has excellent mechanics, good arm strength, and he is an outstanding read option quarterback and all the nuances that entails.
I'm lazy so I didn't bother reading through everyone's posts..so forgive me if I repeat something here
1. Chrome is cool and several teams are doing it
2. VT doesn't shouldn't do chrome just because it's the cool thing to do...we should stick with Maroon
3. IF we're going to do Chrome, maroon seems like a much more appropriate contrasting color than..orange..
4. I like the old school gobbler, but something just seems wrong about trying to marry the old gobbler with the new chrome...let's not do that..if we're going to do chrome, we should just slap a big ol' maroon VT on the side.
Ultimately, what I think doesn't matter..if it gets the players excited and they want to get out there and wear those helmets, by all means make it happen. I personally would love for VT to stick to a single helmet, 1 away uniform, and 1 home uniform(preferably #allmarooneverything) and just go play some hard nosed, physical, mans football. We shouldn't be concerned about how we look..we should be concerned with winning.

Nice!...Long live the QB Abyss! I like that. We need to institutionalize that.
We need T-shirts!
The great thing is they get to play as elite veterans for at least 2 more seasons
I liked the matte helmets with the fighting gobbler better, but whatever.

I don't know if anybody would question Ralph as an oc. But the staff needed to get younger especially for recruiting.
Kam played a lot of FS at Tech, probably out of necessity. He never was a true FS, and that much was evident.
You see that he plays SS in the League. I always thought he should have played ROV for Bud since that was more suited to his size and skills.
I agree, no matter who starts next year I don't think Max would be a HUGE upgrade over the next guy.
Does anyone think Ralph would have had more success with the offense this season than Lefty? I don't see anything wrong if Beamer did hire Ralph.
Ill bet there's a certain clock mis-manager in who?ville that thinks this rule is just downright swell.
WHO? ... YOU!
AB-great point about last two minutes- player safety is abandoned?
If these are proposed rules - are the chances high that they will pass? ... and when?
Also, could it be modified say, changed to 5 seconds?
We'll see, Scrap. Ford can move better than people think. I like that with these two and McMillian (who is a great read option/IV guy) Loeffler has OPTIONS.
It's almost like whatever offense the rest of the team can run best, Lefty has a field general who can fit in and be an impact player!
I wouldn't be surprised if we see him put a lot of this classes skill players in position to show what they've got with a Mark Leal at the helm and maybe a Durkin in some packages just to see what will work best in 15 and 16. THEN the supporting cast picture will be a lot clearer and we might have a better idea about the QB of the future.
That's what I kind of thought but wasn't sure. And those additional questions were for if the rule were to apply to the under two minutes, sorry if that wasn't clear.
Under two minutes before halftime/end of the game the rule does not apply.
The rest, I don't know about.
Yep, I ordered the maroon helmet version decals from this guy to make my own matte mini helmet. Pride of Hawaiian Sports is the name of the place that sells this.
I'm assuming I just missed it but is there a under 2 minute clause? what about spiking the ball? If it's an incomplete or he goes out of bounds do they still enforce the rule but not if the clock will run (continuously or on the ref's whistle)?.
God this rule is dumb.

Well now that we're on the subject...
Keep the same design as our current. Maroon chrome dome. Plain chrome logo (possibly oversized to look 'cool') with orange chrome trim. Have Nike special design one of their super badass uniform sets (all maroon, naturally). Promote the everliving hell out of it to any and all recruits that think about VT.
Bask in the positive chatter around the college football world such a uniform set would create.
