I'd be really disappointed if we lost Mangus. When he's seen the field, I've thought he was the most dynamic RB of the bunch. Seeing him with the ball in his hands makes a horse happy.
Now, he wasn't as powerful as Edmunds. Maybe not as fast, either. But quick. Got that quick twitch. Fun to watch, fun to root for. I hope we can find a way to use him.
From what I understand, it's mostly about the scheme and technique they are taught. It doesn't translate as well to the NFL as what other teams do on defense.

Manhandled is taking it too far (with the exception of the Stanford game and the ACC title game vs Clemson, I can't think of a game where the Hokies were "manhandled" up front. But, are they as physical and as intimidating as in years past? No, haven't been since 2009 or earlier.
Well that's a tough pill for the game tonight as CJ definitely would have been a factor in containing White down low. Its also bad news on Smith because that means Devin is likely going to have to play way to many minutes. He has been averaging something like 39 and a half out of 40 each game. Fatigue is going to catch up with him if it hasn't already.

let's think progressively, get people talking about the ACC in a fun way...A DIVISION LOTTERY!
Maybe leading up to the Orange Bowl every year, the ACC hosts a show on ESPN (or ACCN) to announce the divisions for the next season.
Pot 1: 2 Division Champs from current season
Pot 2: 4 teams who finished 2nd and 3rd
Pot 3: 4 teams who finished 4th and 5th
Pot 4: 4 teams who finished 6th and 7th
Pick one ball from each pot and place it in a Coastal Bowl and then do the same for the Atlantic Bowl until all the balls are exhausted. then, one by one, open them up to share which teams will be in which division.
Use the next 4 weeks or so to ensure teams play their rivals, play teams they haven't played in 2+ years, and balance the home/away games and rotations if there are matchups from the year before. then announce the full schedule around the end of January.
it might not create a pretty/balanced rotation of any sort, but it would be fun, it would be random, and we could even give ESPN some say in the crossover games to beef up TV inventory. we get variety in our scheduling which we desperately need, and we maintain divisions which makes it easy/clean to determine the CCG participants.

did you read my post? I am not comparing the level of talent in each state. I am comparing the likelihood that someone in a certain state is going to stay instate. I even used the top 5 football states and did not compare its level to VAs. Furthermore the top 5/10 in VA compare pretty well this year to other of the top states. They dont beat them but they are not miles behind in talent at the top

Note that, since 2003, the eleven teams in the "five-star" group have combined for 21 appearances in the BCS Championship game, compared to one appearance by any of the 64 teams listed below. (The lone exception in that span, Oregon, just barely missed the cut for five-star status.) The only "five-star" teams that never played for a title in the BCS era are Georgia and Michigan; among the rest, only Notre Dame failed to make a repeat trip.
