I agree that the Orange Effect looks better at night. The thing is that it mostly depends on which shirt is long sleeve. This is because the night games are colder so long sleeves would most likely have to be worn.

I'm going to say something that many people probably won't like, but it's just what logically makes sense. Maroon effect should not be the night game. There...it's out there now. You can't see just how full the stadium is when everyone is in a dark shirt. Orange effect under the lights looks GREAT when everybody buys in. Hell, orange effect in the afternoon looks great when everyone buys in. The only thing that ruins the orange effect is when the team wears orange jerseys. I love our team in Maroon, but I'm more of a fan of seeing the stadium full of orange.
I think Harrison is a Seminole. I understand the argument that the kids would decommit if they weren't coming to Blacksburg, but why would you bother decommitting at this point?

Moore predated the ACC, which is what the article focused on. He would certainly get my vote for VT's best in the BCS era.
With the uncertainly regarding Nnadi and Harrison and gaining late with Isaiah Ford and McKenzie seemingly out of the blue, it does look like it could be a more interesting NSD than usual for VT.
That being said, we have a very solid class already and though it would be extremely disappointing not to close with these guys (especially Nnadi after losing other high level DL prospects from Virginia), I don't think we have a disaster scenario looming.
I was really excited for Stephone Anthony's decision and then crushed. This year I have the same amount of excitement for Nnadi and will once again be crushed if doesn't pick Tech.
This is an especially buzzsaw year for talent in the ACC. I think Wolfe did really well going 10-3 in the OOC schedule, with the exception of the loss to Richmond (10-12). Only other losses were to Indiana (16-6) and Hampton (17-4), both of whom are probably bound for the NCAA tournament. The ACC though has probably 8 to 10 of the top 50 teams this year. Even Florida State at 15-6 is only 3-5 in the ACC. Three other ACC teams have losing records at this point and two more are 12-10, so sitting at 11-10 isn't so bad this year. I anticipate that next year will be a big season for Tech although they lose two of their three top scorers in Tellier and Ugoka. Ugoka has a real shot at getting drafted into the WNBA if her knee is healthy, which would be great for recruiting.

Good start, but wouldn't slash and burn make more sense? especially in light of Williams jump-cut move.
Not really for Virginia Tech. We're typically pretty set come signing day. This is the most exciting one I can ever remember.

I think JC falls way down on the depth chart this year. He has stuck it out for a couple of years, but has never been "the guy" even when given the opportunity.
Corey Moore was a man among boys. I also like Tapp. Not sure if they were good enough to crack that list, but they were damn fun to watch.
Looking at the roster and the coach that was being considered for the men's team, I honestly thought the lady hokies would be a bit better this year.

Turnover's aside, it was his licks in run support that really set the tone for the game. Seattle was the bully, and the Denver backs and receivers cowered. Chancellor was the leader in that regard. I can't count how many big plays the Broncos could have had against a two deep safety, but Chancellor was there not only to make the tackle, but to drive Ball and Moreno back with authority.

But by the time the long sleeve Effect game comes around, it's colder, and extra layers are required. Most of the Hokies I know tend to have predominately maroon colored outerwear. So, when the Orange Effect is a long sleeved deal, and on a cold night game, I don't think it really works out as well.
I have the solution. When Orange Effect rolls around, everyone buys a shirt three sizes larger than normal and wears it outside all of their layers. Result: Lane Stadium is full of screaming, key shaking, orange Michelin men/women.
Or... man up, get a nice brew jacket going and wear fewer layers.
Whatever happened to that kid who dressed up in full body paint like a VT 300 warrior. Used to carry a shield with him and had a fierce beard to boot. Saw him at a lot of sporting events. Me thinks that a guy like that is probably a member in here.
Yup, definitely don't see JC making much of an impact with who we have coming in.

His hit on Thomas was definitely a highlight play. Set the tone for thoe whole game. I know Thomas still had 13 catches; but the message was clear, "If you want to run those slants across the middle, you better have your head on swivle". That play against Welker was heads up too even if the hit wasn't as fierce. And he was in on the special teams play too. All around a great performance from a fan favorite. Hope this helps DB recruiting.
