I also think Harrison would have decommitted by now if we were going to lose him. Nnadi is so tough to guess, but I'm scared he's gone. I would say we get the rest, except for Scott, barring grade issues.
The idea of getting Harrison, McKenzie, Ford, Phillips, Bradshaw, and Holland in one class is ridiculous. We would be stacked at WR for years.
Are our admissions standards really higher than Clearinghouse minimums? I mean, yes, some of these kids wouldn't get into Tech on academic merit alone, but as long as they meet our minimum requirements (which I thought were pretty much standard with the NCAA) they can get in.

Javon Harrison: FSU (Seems like this is definitely going to happen)
Raymon Minor: VT (Pulling for him to get those grades up)
Isaiah Ford: VT (He has best chance to play bball in the best conference fot it)

Clearinghouse and University Admissions are two separate entities with separate standards. Clearinghouse is the minimum to qualify to play NCAA sports and Admissions is to get into a school.

I don't necessarily see Cassell as a liability - we just need to get the excitement back in the program. The old lady can rock when you have 8,000+ and excitement in the air. We just need to recapture the magic.
I'm trying to think of who could be the "Tommy Tuberville" of college basketball hires for Whit. Some ideas:
Trent Johnson, current coach of TCU, former coach at Stanford and LSU
Andy Kennedy, current coach of Ole Miss, former coach at Cinncy
Oliver Purnell, current coach of DePaul, former coach at Clemson and Radford
Larry Eustachy, current Colorado St coach, former Iowa State coach
Herb Sendek, current Arizona St coach, former NCSU coach
I would say none of those guys have Tuberville's charisma, but many have had some very successful seasons and are currently in a less-than-glamorous job.

I would mostly be surprised with Bronson to FAU on that list. I think the others are probably the odds-on-favorites at this time, although McKenzie, Nnadi and Harrison are likely very close.
Anthony Scott: Its always good to get good players but we are going to be crowded in the backfield especially if he comes to VT. Anyone see that as an issue?
I'd love to hear the inside details on Gray and his connection to Harrison. I bet it's pretty deep, like he dated Harrison's mom in HS or she's married to his cousin or something.
Keep in mind Gray has a teenage daughter himself that was born when he was in college or right after.

Its a normal 9-12 grade private, military high school. Did he fail and spend 5 years there?
Ford is an interesting case because he committed early to Louisville.....then I think he blew up a little in hoops to the point where he started hearing that he could play D1 ball and that changed his thoughts about L'ville. (I imagine Pitino thought, "Sure, he can sit the bench for me if he wants.")
He's got a 4* offer list. He's seems to be pretty devout guy from his twitter posting, I'm hoping that may sway him away from Petrino.
I am surprised not to see Tommy Amaker on the list. Is there a particular reason why he was left off that has been made public?
He is from VA, played in the ACC, and has found a way to win at Harvard and is only making $700k now. He coached at Michigan for 6 years and never made the tournament, but had multiple 20+ win seasons.

Cassell has a certain charm to it and it is not likely to be replaced anytime soon. Seats just under 10,000 and if filled with about 7,000 or more (and sometimes less) it can get pretty loud in there. Even sports like wrestling and volleyball that only draw about a thousand or so can get loud occasionally. If they want to show recruits flash, all they have to do is take them to the practice facility.
Usually the claim "major selectors" but it is rather amazing that even in the BCS era there have only been 7 or 8 consensus picks. Even last year ... someone selected ND over Alabama. Everybody has an opinion. And apparently by the national championship recruiting logic every recruit should try to go to Princeton or Yale because they have the most by far.
On the other hand, our basketball team might be bad enough that he can come in and make an immediate impact. After football season's over, of course.
