It depends on what our final number was last year. If it was only 19, we could have 6 early enrollees count towards 13. If it was 24, we could only use 1.
IMO the biggest hurtle here isn't ND... it's the NCAA. They only allow one in conference post season game per year, and I believe no more than two divisions within a conference.
ND is smaller, can make changes relatively easily, and will be willing to if they are in the program's best interests. Changing NCAA rules is a total pain in the ass. (I tried to think of some witty analogy to explain how painful/challenging this is, but could think of no such situation anywhere else in life).

I can attest to HDubya's reasons, but they're not reasons worth posting on this site. As for JVZ's basketball ability, he doesn't have much of an offensive game and he is flat out soft on the glass.
I don't want the "tebow" offense. it has a short shelf life as we have seen the past few seasons. I have no problem with a multiple offense but running the power read (really QB Keep as we run it) as many times as we did this year is not my idea of offensive progress.

Kyle (sorry, can't refer to him as 'Ky Gel'-had some bad experiences that I won't get into here....) is so good in coverage, if he plays, I would expect him in that role and hopefully bookend with the D-line/Dadi to contain.
But a mobile QB (and anyone named Andre Williams) has been our achille's heel.
I expect Bud to have a plan.
But it seems when we lose these games, it's a combo of defensive breakdowns and big special teams plays against up that do us in.
