I agree but then why is it even being put out there that he may not be suspended. Yeah its deadspin and others but when CBS and NBC are all saying the same thing it looks awful for FSU. I will say that I'm not going to judge him(Jameis) or FSU until things come out but its already off to a rocky start.
I had a chance to play around with my friend's new PS4 last night and I came away underwhelmed. For starters the PS4 has had virtually all of it's home media capabilities stripped away. The PS4 cannot stream video or audio off of a network drive or a USB local stick. Given how long this has been a staple of the PS3 this was a big disappointment. Indications are that the PS4 dev team is working on including this functionality in the future, but that's a pretty big miss in my book.
The PS4 does have a full compliment of streaming options from service providers like Netflix, Hulu, etc.
I can't judge too much from the gameplay since the only title I had available was Kill Zone and I played for just 30 minutes or so. My immediate impression was that it wasn't that much different from what the PS3 can do. The game featured a lot of atmospheric effects and dynamic lighting (fog, shadows, diffracted light) but it wasn't $400 better than what I see in GTA-V on my PS3. It's always unfair to pick on the launch titles with a console since it takes a while for the developers to really wring all the performance out of the hardware. All in all I didn't come away with the feeling that I needed one in the next year or two.
I'll get to take a crack at the X-Bone later this month and we'll see how they compare.
I'd like to point out it'll be pretty hard to win a MNC without winning the acc...

And I completely agree with you on the education of drivers in the US. It's completely on yourself to learn how to drive, because the process of getting a license won't teach you squat. For example in Maryland you never actually have to get on the road to pass the drivers test. They essentially assume if you can drive in a parking lot by yourself, you can drive just fine when you get on a road with other people.

This entire article is misleading. Nowhere does it say what "extraordinary circumstances" are, let alone if rape is included. It is just saying that there is a gray area that has not been defined.
Gotta keep the Duke Lacrosse case in mind. those guys got hammered hard for something they did not do.
Charged doesn't mean guilty.
There is quite a lot to this case. If he's innocent but is kept from a once in a lifetime event just because he's accused, how is he to get restitution for that?
Let the authorities handle it but keep their feet to the fire. There is way too much going on here to make a judgement.
Because you asked for it, here is my honest opinion. What you wrote reads like a political ad. You took something that was based on the truth, and flipped it into something manufactured.
To conclude that "FSU thinks [rape] [is] no big deal" because there is a clause for "extraordinary circumstances" is, to put it nicely, not logical. The "extraordinary circumstances" clause applies to all felonies, not specifically rape.
Read the entire excerpt from the code of conduct.
"In the event the student-athlete is charged with a felony, absent extraordinary circumstances as determined by the administration, he/she will not be permitted to represent FSU Athletics in game competition until such time as the charge is resolved and all court, university and athletics department conditions for reinstatement have been met."
That is not the spirit of the provision that you described.
Like every other backdoor, it was written because the folks who wrote FSU's code of conduct didn't have a crystal ball.

I will say this: I will reserve complete judgement until we have all of the facts, and while the news that trickles down through media outlets each day is troubling for Mr. Winston, my mind keeps going back to the Kobe Bryant case. Not to say Winston is innocent...but time will tell.
The Deadspin article written yesterday certainly paints FSU athletics in a bad light, but it is not as though we were all blind to these happenings at academic institutions across the country.
Gotta say it like this:

That was a powerful piece. There's a lot to take away from it, however the first thing that resonated with me is these kids aren't student athletes. The more I read about how successful programs stay afloat (Oklahoma State being another recent behind the scenes look), the more it becomes obvious being a student is simply something that gets in the way of playing football. Oh, and these kids seem like they're being put through the grinder at the low cost of tuition, which is as much of investment in their future as me playing pickup football on the Drillfield was to mine.
I want the uniforms back. I want those painted end zones. I want stick it in x3. I want those rabid fans back. Wouldn't hurt to have ol' QB7 around either.

My problem with roundabouts is the amount of space it takes. This graphic is a perfect example. From a real estate perspective, I hate these damn things and forbid any stupid planners to use them on anything I work in. They also create vehicular predominant landscapes, which negate real estate value further. They work fine on Southgate, but should not be anywhere near "people." It's a suburban solution, never should be an urban solution (because even urban roundabouts require the drag zone for the 18-wheelers that makes the radius huge by VDOT standards)

If you phrase it like that, I don't see how your company could say no. You have to actually say, "would be the tits" for this to work though. Very important phrasing.

People who don't know how to use them will cause problems. I think they need to be made as simple as possible until drivers are properly educated about them. Until I started reading and commenting on this thread I never knew that you weren't supposed to change lanes in a roundabout. I'm only 25 years old, and if I didn't learn that in my driver education course there are MILLIONS of Americans who never learned that either. How are they supposed to know that rule? Everyone knows the rules to traffic lights.
I've said all along that I think traffic circles and roundabouts are more efficient and generally better than 'traditional' intersections, but I think because people (myself included) don't know how to properly use them they can be dangerous. I'm not arguing that roundabouts are bad. I'm arguing that the education required for drivers to understand and properly utilize roundabouts to maximize efficiency is lacking severely. I think eventually, if roundabouts are covered in driver education classes, in a generation or two when a majority of drivers understand roundabouts there won't be any issue. But as of right now, they're poorly executed. The overall design of them isn't bad, but the rules that govern their efficiency aren't well known and that's a problem.
