I thought it looked pretty sweet against Bama. Only difference is the Hokie Stone helmets instead of maroon. I'm ok with it.
As long as it isn't the awful orange unis, I'm content. That being said, the more Maroon, the better!
Maryland has just had the worst luck on injuries the last few years. Yes, we've had some ourselves, but not on the scale of them.
Yes, Turkey Leg. Just as the orange unis will always have bad memories for me, that GT maroon with stone helmet combo will forever be one of my favorites. I was at that game. My son got to speak with the coaches some before kickoff. Then domination happened. I would love to see this combo coming out of the Miami win, setting up the finishing run to the ACCCG.
I hope we go with the GT combo again. Those were really cool. The Hokie Stone helmets make sense for Senior Day, especially given the theme of the season and the mentality that Beamer has been instilling in the team.
Other than small details...it pretty much is.
I doubt we will go gray. Alabama wasn't allowed to wear white when we wore gray at the Chick-Fil-A Kickoff game and Maryland intends to wear this:

If we intended UMD to wear a color, we would have told them by now.
The fact of the matter is that other than DBs can you honestly say that we have ever gotten big time recruits to play the positions? What people that know the VT program see is kids that are under valued getting shots to play LB and DL and excelling at those spots in college but not getting the shot in the pros because they aren't the prototypical LB or DL for the pro game. That says a lot about the coaching on the defensive side of the ball at VT. If those prototypical pro LBs and DTs or DEs would come to VT can you imagine the style of defense that Bud Foster could put on the field?
Yeah, the pants in that photo were actually silver, not gray. It didn't match and looked terrible.
I don't mind the gray, but I'm not a fan of that jersey design. It looks very WVU circa 2007.
Don't know if it's old fashioned or not, but it shouldn't be too much of a sacrifice for all citizens to obey all the laws of the state. I totally believe in 2nd chances per se but one is all you get. Youthful indiscretions will happen as they have to learn how to act in society but once you're caught, that's it. A repeat is then on the coach in this scenario. The rules are laid out - don't accept a position unless you're ready to toe the line. The thing that is hardest to remember for me is that these are kids. What was I acting like when I was their age? Well, I was a military member and under the tutelage of my "coaches" (drill Sgts) and they gave me the rules and I obeyed them. Did I still do things I wasn't supposed to? Hell, yes but the fear of getting caught made me extra special cautious. If there were going to be drug tests, then I abstained and drank beer all over Europe. I weighed the potentials and made choices thereof.
Guys, we have the same problem recruiting linebackers. Recall the class that had Stephon Anthony - we had three blue chip LBs pick other schools. Until we start placing more of our front seven in the NFL, schools will always be able to use it against us.
With regard to Hand - I heard a few months ago that Bama had strong influence over Hand's personal trainer, who really helped sway Hand away from VT.
That gif is priceless
I own one! Haha
yeah ^this^
Plus one for CCR mention.
What ALL drummers look like, on the inside:

Well, he can walk on at Tech, and we might make him into a Byrn or Tyler.
1983 UVa game in Charlottesville. Freshman year, playing in the MV drumline. 48-0.
I strongly dislike the gray tops and bottoms. I said this before the Bama game, but they give me the impression that Nike's design studio handed off the scheme to some summer intern.
Its Senior Day - let's give the seniors one #AllMaroonEverything, or at least maroon tops & bottoms with the Hokie Stone lids (GT combo).
Height disparity? Was it the victim who couldn't see? Unless she went cross-eyed after the fact. And practicing for the big game in December 2012? It must have come early.
Already pushing to be my favorite Hokie of all time and the kid hasn't even officially arrived on Campus.
If I was Caleb and this happened I would be pissed. I was at WR last season, then moved to RB to add depth but also where I feel more comfortable and then moved back to WR. Caleb was a huge recruit... he needs to get on the field and make plays, not continuously shuffled around to simply provide depth. Again I contend VT gets a bad reputation of moving kids around too much and it affects our recruiting.
But then again... there were Foghorn Leghorn helmets...
SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO PERFECT!
