It'd be all great until the DNA started fighting itself, and resulted in Kicker Fuller sprinting down the field and goal-tending his own kicks.

I think every quarterback has a higher winning percentage when they play better.

If the good guy unproven who doesn't break rules goes 0-fer life, I'd still prefer him to a CJ no matter how accurate he is.

My pride & love of VT runs far deeper than anything that happens in the game of football. I expect that pride to be reinforced by all VT's representatives. Obviously football is a passion of mine, but I prefer to root for the good guys.

I hope Cody takes this lesson to heart and turns his life around. But I haven't wanted him on the field for a long time.

Ut Prosim.

I heard Kirk Herbstreit throw that fact out last weekend. Unreal.

Isn't it already well established that turnovers play a huge part in the outcome of football games? And coincidentally, the most turnover prone player on a team is the player who has the ball the most often, I.E. the quarterback.

It's a 17-year-old-kid who spurned us to play at the best football program in the country. Was it a little disingenuous for him to say he cut Virginia Tech because we don't have a sports marketing program and then say he chose Alabama partially because of its civil engineering program? Yes. (Then again, somebody could have twisted his words or misinterpreted what he said)

Here's a kid with literally over 100 schools were showing interest and he went through the process with a high level of grace and humility. Don't get me wrong, I would have LOVED to have Hand come to Virginia Tech, but he sounds like a thoughtful kid who put a lot of effort into his decision and took into account every variable possible. I'm happy for him and his family and I'm hopefully if he decides to decommit, Bud Foster and the rest of his staff are willing to give him a second shot.

Recruiting battles suck because of the irrational emotional attachment fans have for their alma mater. At the same time, we should be happy that Andrew Ford and the funky bunch are coming down to Blacksburg soon.

One thought here - anyone who has complained about our uniforms/headgears in the last couple seasons, please take a long hard look at Maryland on Saturday and be thankful for what we have!

Good for him for making the best decision for his future. Best of luck DaShawn!

On another, I'm not sure why some of you are so salty about this. We knew he wasn't going to commit to VT a long time ago. So what? Have you seen our DL prospects lately? We're gonna be fine

YES! Down their throats! I want Edmunds and Coleman to each go over 100 yards. Nothing is more demoralizing to a defense than not being able to stop what you know is coming.

Yep, he draws special hatred. The guys on the field get a nasty look from me, too, because of the two BS PI calls on Hosley.

One correction: In Virginia, there is no law against using marijuana. As with most states, the possession, cultivation, or distribution is illegal, but not the use thereof, which is why players that fail drug tests don't typically go to jail.

It was the ref in the replay booth that I really dislike. He had already incorrectly called a replay in PAC-12 game earlier in the season.

That "unproven" that you speak of came out and went 0-fer against Marshall. Not saying that he's awful and can't succeed, but in his chance this year, he fell on his face...hard.

Agree 100%- Would like to see the number of 5* guys that end up playing in the NFL. If I was being recruited right now as a 5* with hype x infinity, why would you choose anywhere different than a place that is going to give you the best chance to succeed?

I don't fear for the unproven. I fear for the proven to be bad. In other words, he could come out and kick up a fucking storm, but could come out and be bad, why should I be afraid when we don't know what it's going to be?

I would say even MORE this year. It's not like CJ was 100% this year. Every time he kicked the ball this year, you didn't know whether he would wiff a 22yd field goal or make a 56 yd field goal. How can an "unproven" kicker be any worse than that? I don't know about you, but I was holding my breath every field goal this year BECAUSE Cody wasn't doing particularly well, so there won't be much difference in how I handle that part of watching the game.

This kid lives in my dorm. Great kid. Told me last night he was getting the start. He is kicking PAT's as well as field goals from 40 yards and in!
