I lived in cochrane with Joey my freshman year...dude was awesome haha, and in the fact that he had to duck every time he walked into a room and he definitely had a bit of an intimidation factor to him. I was like "woah if hes not on the basketball team get that man a jersey!" the first time I met him

Don't count GT out as well that they HAVE to win the game in order to hope to go to ACCCG this year. Granted, other things have to happen, such as us losing one of the last two games, but they have to win. Trust me, they'll be fighting for it.

Clemson will be fighting, too. They may not make the ACCCG, but if they win the rest of their games and stay ranked, they'll be pulling for FSU to go to NC so they get the at-large bid BCS. If they don't stay ranked by losing to an unranked GT, then they get screwed out of that bid and the highest they can go is CFA Bowl.

In other words, it should be an interesting game.

give an address -we can make it happen easily I would think... so now the site is an endowment organization? I smell 501-c3 status...

GT has done it before and will be up for this game while Clempson is probably not looking forward to it. Remember, NC State had a great shot at beating them only to have a TD called back.

We can just call him the Flying Dutchman then. Problem solved.

ESPN is blocked in my office. Yet this site is not....hey, I'm not complaining.

ESPN has it on Gamecast if you cant find a radio. 49-45 Tech right now

My thoughts and prayers are with Mr. Weaver and his family. My grandfather recently passed after battling Alzheimer's for several years, so I know how difficult a long-term and life-altering illness can be. I'm thankful for all he's done for Virginia Tech athletics, and am glad he got to sign the deal for the Bristol game before he had to retire. I know he talked a lot about wanting that to happen throughout the years.

I think it is fitting that he helped ensure Frank Beamer became a coaching legend, given that he played for Joe Paterno. In my opinion, a lot of how he managed the athletic department modeled the stability that Penn State had for so many years. Hopefully a small part of his legacy will be enabling some of Frank's players to follow a similar path and provide steady leadership in their chosen fields.

It's been discussed on here before, but I belive the consensus was that Beamer doesn't have the business savy to play the AD role well. He will definitely be invovled in the athletic department in some facet after he retires from coaching, just doubt it would be that high of a role.

Also, Beamer is getting up there and Weaver's entire reason for retiring seems to be that he can just no longer keep up, doubt Beamer could or would want to handle that stress.

I don't think there's any way this stays internal. New university president will bring in their own person to the position. McCloskey probably stays on as interim until sometime in the spring, maybe early summer.

Is it too soon to start the Joe for VT AD campaign?

Does anyone have a link to a radio call of this game so I can keep up while I'm at work?

obviously, this begs the next question. Who is the next man up?

I haven't been watching too closely (at work as well), but he hasn't really done anything. The few times I've heard his name has been to point out that he hasn't done anything yet.

arent they...already...virtual?...

17-2 run starting in the first half has the game tied! LET'S GO!

Too bad tanking in college hoops doesn't pay off like in the NBA. I have a feeling we could be really great at being really terrible. TURRIBLE.
