I would say the fan base (at least from my perspective) is more frustrated than angry. We've seen Logan make phenomenal plays, we know he knows how to get the W. But, all these little, frequent mistakes are as you said "maddening" and can / have costs us games. I still have faith in him.
I would UPVOTE this 5,000 times if I could, but I completely agree with what Mason said here.
Mason drops the mic, walks away. Fucking nailed it.
What would you expect from someone that seems to want to encourage a blackout game...
THANK YOU MASON. Very well said.
So basically the gameplan for Miami would be similar to Western Carolina? Establish the inside zone. outside zone, & stretch runs to set up counter runs and PA passes? Would that work with our OL against the U?
I tend to not log on the entire weekend...this weekend especially when some were trashing LT.
I won't take part in that shit. Nor will I waste my time reading it.
I don't think there is much happiness going on in hooville right now. LOL
But... but... as a Hokie Grinch, I can take away the happiness of all the hoos down in hooville.
The offense will be running from under center more next year, but they should be doing it more this year too. The offensive line needs the reps. The running backs need the reps. The wide receivers need the reps. Even if the offense didn't have much success doing it, the time that they put in this season running the ball in game situations would help them in the future.
Strategically, I'm a big advocate of this philosophy. I'm not prepared to abandon Logan as starter, but I am ready to abandon the Logan-centered offense experiment.

It's in the hole!
Instead of calling for Loeffler to play Leal instead of Logan, why not call for Loeffler to play Logan like he would play Leal?
AMEN AMEN AMEN AMEN
Mason just eagled the par four, you guys.
We are the ones who KNOCK!!
His 247 profile shows no offers yet so we do have the advantage in that if we offer a greyshirt, he would have no choice but to take that. That would separate him from Williams and Reid, and also would make a nice combo of RB's for next year with McClease being the speed back and Peoples being the power back.
In my opinion the only problem I have so far this season is that I allowed myself to be lulled into the sense that we were going to be better than what I initially anticipated. I had no expectations at the beginning of the season other then hoping for an 8 win season. Did I think we were going to beat Alabama, no, but I sure hoped so and rooted like a mad man during the game. Was I excited the next few games when we won, hell yeah! And because of that I allowed myself to start believing that we could win out and thumb our noses at the haters. I was disappointed with the Duke loss but, having been a very long time follower of the team, chalked it up to the phenomena of the Hokies always seeming to have to lose one game they should have won. BC hurt because I really thought they would rebound and win. Did we beat ourselves or did BC beat us? I think we beat ourselves, as with the Duke game, I thought we were the better team but managed to give the games away.
Who is at fault? I don't know, French does a great job of breaking the game down and showing the break downs in the game and I learn more each time I come on this site. Unlike the previous offensive coaching staff where I would have said it was time for a change, at this point I don't think there is any one problem you can point too and say fix this and everything will get better. This is the first year for the whole offensive side (and I say this not only because of the coaches but also the players that have to learn a new way of playing).
Watching other games after the VT game I see how much better receivers look creating separation or backs look cutting between the tackles while running the ball. I don't see the quarterback having to do half as much as Logan does while executing plays. I hope that is what we are going to look like in the next couple of years.
So I will continue rooting for the team, I will continue looking for improvement, I will continue supporting our coaches until they have had a chance to implement their system, and I will continue to support the players the coaches feel should be in the game, since they play their heart out for me while I suck down beer and eat pizza rolls (yeah, kind of weird but it has become somewhat of a tradition around here).
Go Hokies!
Edited for readability.
He can't say I Love The Hokies.
Still gives me chills. However, nothing trumps the entire game and chilling factor of '03 Miami.
great find
haha... you have a very interesting perspective on the way you read things. Let's review:
1) never said you down voted me, and I don't mind if you do.
2) was talking about your "who farted in your coffee?" quip which directly implies you taking it personal, therefore getting upset.
3) I don't mind you disagreeing with me, in fact... I literally just said in my previous post that it's a discussion and you shouldn't take it personal.
4) I am sure lots of people disagree with me, and I am also sure, like Guitarman, lots of people agree with me. That's what happens in any discussion, but you shouldn't take it personal (eg. see point #2)
That was beautiful.
I believe Phillip Dorsett, their ridiculously fast WR, is also still out with an MCL tear.
It may not seem like it, but oftentimes football can come down to a few big plays, especially with our team. Very, very rarely will you see a team march 80 yards down the field against our D so it's these big plays that make the difference.
That Logan fumble when we were up 7 with the ball absolutely turned the game around. Our defense was in total control at that point (BC hadn't had a legitimate drive since the first quarter and had 3 straight 3 and outs) and they were showing no signs of turning that around. To me, that fumble was just as bad as the INT because it let BC back in the game.

Nailed It!
