Overcompensate by using correct grammar? That's a new one for me. I understand your decision to use shorthand, I do it myself in texts and other times where I need to get an informal message out quickly. But when some site members have an undergrad education that was based on writing, it makes me (and possibly others) wince when we see a dozen 'ur' and 'u' in a post about making an educated opinion on why our beloved Hokies are struggling, especially when it's laid out side by side with French. I do sincerely apologize about this, as it clearly is a blatant effort to stifle your First Amendment freedoms, it's just easier for me to comprehend and take a post as legitimate when proper grammar/spelling is involved, just the way my limited brain works I guess.
same here.
HOKIES!
This was a pretty gripping discussion and thread actually. Much like election day today and politics, it's fun to debate but in the end we probably all should agree to disagree.
Arguments aside, I don't WANT Logan to be benched. Why? Because I think it would be an asshole move given that there are two valid sides to the QB controversy. We have 4 (or 5) games left, and maybe possibly trying to squeeze out a smidgen of a probability of an extra win or two isn't worth turning your back on your team leader, and, potentially really hurting his future after he has already sacrificed so much for the program.
Let's look at the economics of being an asshole then. If someone had a crystal ball and offered you the following scenarios:
- LT3 0-4 Leal 5-0: Not an asshole move, sorry Logan let's get you some reps at TE the next few weeks
- LT3 1-3 Leal 4-1: still pretty tempting - how did Kalvin Cline practice this week anyway?
- LT3 2-2 Leal 3-2 (LT3 no ACCCG appearance, Leal gets to but loses in ACCCG and bowl): ACCCG appearance is a program benefit but another high-profile loss- ugh
- LT3 3-2 Leal 2-2 (LT3 gets to but loses in ACCCG and bowl, Leal doesn't get you to ACCCG): more wins are good
- LT3 4-1 Leal 1-3: even with a big bowl loss this is still better
- LT3 5-0 Leal 0-4: I immediately regret this decision
I think we can all agree #1 and #2 are pretty unlikely. Personally #3 is where I question is it worth it or not. There are many other scenarios (win quality, LOLUVA etc), but the way I see things rolling the dice isn't for me on this. I bet the hard ways only when playing craps. Anyway thanks for indulging.
I actually had this feeling against Duke. With the way the D played, I felt more confident a pick 6 or at least getting the offense into a position where they didn't have to go more than 10 yards happening than the offense actually getting 10 yards.
ALSO! theres a very very good chance (according to my friend on the team) that we'll get a home seed in the NCAA tournament! so...YAY
ill be there! my roommate and i are visiting some friends from UNC and are swinging by the game first! so pumped these girls are awesome and im gonna miss dayle so much, she is an incredible keeper! this could be a really special season for them if the chips fall right in the NCAAs
LETS GOOOOO!!!!!!!!

Ha! Got em...
Tell 'em Bud is coming and he's pissed off. Oh, and he's bringing Sam Rogers with him.
The cardinal rule any coach will tell u...limit turnovers. 400 yards are negated by FOUR turnovers. You gain 400yrds and a win ISN'T guaranteed. You turnover the ball 4 times and a loss is pretty much guaranteed. If u'd like to know how to out gain BC by almost 200yrds and still lose...turnover the ball 4 times.
This. Not in Lane so I will just have to turn my TV up really freakin loud and the neighbors will just have to deal with it.
Not for nothing, but I'm pretty sure that was Mike Patrick that said that. His voice is pretty recognizable.
Nice
This team is pretty good. Watched them against ND the first time they came and then the FSU loss. Thier only three losses on the season are against the top three seeds in the ACC which happen to be the 3 of the top 4 teams Nationally. They can compete with those teams, but it's going to be tough getting past UVA. I'll probably have the game on my laptop since it's on ESPN3 and I'll be working the volleyball match. Whatever happens, they've had a good year so far and will get a decent seed in the NCAA tournament.
I obviously approve this thread
Steven Peoples was apparently at the Duke game. Also, saw that he has been credited with the VHSL record for 502 yards.
I'm surprised it took this long to come out. He has been getting less reps because they already knew a suspension was coming. I've heard West Virginia is even worse than us this year, so he isn't really missing anything significant. Hopefully he comes back a better player this year though as him and Cadarian will probably be the focal points besides Adam Smith.
Remember folks, Saturday is a triple header in Cassell. Come out and support Men's and Women's Basketball as well as the Volleyball team.
Yarrr!
What a great speech - Lets take it to the U - make them remember this game with fear! Go Hokies!!!
I love Logan Thomas as the Hokie QB. I can live with the turnovers. I like to watch Logan blow people up when he runs over them. That's how I am. I love football violence, and if we can get our QB dishing out, as well as the defense, it's a win-win for me. I've had a lot of fun watching him play, and I'm going to miss him next year.
Seriously, how is Northwestern not #1 on this list? Just a month ago, they were 4-0, ranked in the Top 20, heading into a big game with tOSU, they get Game Day on campus, and everyone is pumped. Now they've lost 5 straight, including that hail mary from Nebraska. That's just brutal. I don't think any of us would trade places with them right now.
I'm so excited for the game this weekend. Yes, we lost to BC and Duke, but now this team is extra motivated, and they have a serious chip on their shoulder. I'm excited!!!
Go hokies!

Ditto!
