I love the Dadi sack where savage just got out of it then went to the ground as three Hokies were swarming him like "OH SHIT"

I have a (maybe unpopular) opinion about the Mike London situation that I'd like to throw out there and see if anyone agrees/disagrees with me.

First and foremost, do I wish Quin Blanding and Andrew Brown were Hokies? Absolutely. Talented players like them only come around once in a while in one state.

One of the big things I don't like about Virginia Tech football is that we don't have a marquee rival. I firmly believe that schools like Michigan have an edge in recruiting because they have high-profile rivalries with other "big-time" schools. This in-turn create more exposure and more revenue for the program. We're already starting to see that come to fruition playing UT in Bristol in 2016.

Having these guy go to UVA might make the Commonwealth Cup a more legitimate rivalry going forward...and with London being the coach, it's the perfect storm for the Hokies. These high-profiled recruits will go to UVA and will inflate the team's record by "out-talenting" the Duke and Wake Forest's of the world. However, when London is forced to play against Virginia Tech, it won't work because we have just as much talent but we won't have Mike London coaching our team.

UVA will create the facade of a competitive rivalry that we can consistently beat year in and year out (with a couple statistical anomalies thrown in there)...in a roundabout way, UVA is helping Virginia Tech become a stronger program.

I agree. Mizzou was right there to catch them slippin'. Even the local radio guys here said that Georgia would have a hard road to go last week.

I'm sure that has something to do with it. I think DJ is struggling, because he has always been hurt. In reality, he isn't a true senior when you think of it.

Then you also remember, that a lot of them are young. I mean, Knowles is a soph if I recall.

Stanford looks good. He has some great athleticism. Cline is a beast, and its great to think he is a freshman, and can only get better as time goes on. Gets even more exciting to think that we have more TE's in the system too.

I love Willie, he really reminds me of Danny. He is just there and makes some crazy catches. no fear of getting hit. His style reminds me a lot of coale.

Honestly, if we can get the running game up and going, and with some of these kids in the pipeline (Williams for instance), QB may not be that big of an issue next year. There are going to be a lot of good offensive weapons for a few years to come. Look at all the different WR getting touches.

I 100% agree with you that it isn't our fault. The only teams we play every year that aren't consistently awful are Georgia Tech and Miami.

Miami should be that rivalry but they need to develop continuity before that happens.

The difference between followers of the ACC and SEC fans:
ACC: Wow, I really thought Miami was a better team then they showed last night. I'm going to give them less credit based on their performance against a 1-4 football team.
SEC: You know, that Georgia win in OT over Tennessee was a really good win for Georgia. Even though Tennessee hasn't won a conference game in like 3 years, Tennessee would still beat 80% of the teams from other conferences.

At higher ticket prices, you are going to lose a lot of fans. The bowls are already during the holiday season, when some budgets get tighter.

If we lack a marquee rival, it's not really our fault. UVA has been terrible, and Tennessee has refused to play us regularly (as I understand it). WVU was the closest we had to an actual good rival in quite some time, but our series with them is on hiatus and even they've fallen on hard times.

I won't lie though... If we could get a yearly home-and-home with UT, that'd be great for perception.

Clemson is the ACC's best shot at a title. They would have beaten UGA, FSU, USCe, VT(possibly Miami). The key to their resume over FSU (wins vs UF, Clem, Miami, VT) is Clemson will have beaten 2 top tier SEC schools and then top 5 Clemson and possibly a top 10 VT by that time. They are already #3 and with wins over FSU and then USCe they could jump to #2 I believe especially in the computers.

Why are we not recruiting this kid harder? St. Chris is a great school in a good area of Richmond. Throw Bud Foster on him...

Does anyone else have the "Rack City" song stuck in their head?
