You really think we will lose to GT, UNC, AND miami? With the defense having one more hear of experience under their belt, I think we shut down and beat Georgia Tech, and there is no way that UNC is putting up 40+ on us again, not after what happened last year. Miami is the toss-up game in my opinion.
That being said, I still say, like in my predictions, that we get back to 10 wins.

A few years back, I predicted that Clemson would get blasted by Alabama in the first game of the season. I was laughed out of the pick 'em but Alabama did win by a wide margin. The reason? Clemson's offensive line was brand new. This year, we have many new players on our offensive line, but so do they. Even with Yeldon and Cooper, I think this game will be lower scoring than many think because both offensive lines are going to have a hard time. When the score stays low, the underdog stays within striking distance well into the second half, and at that point, anything can happen.

I also still don't get the comment. I've just accepted it as part of the cultural lexicon at this point.

If this is true, then we could extend the phrase to "don't deny my pussy pussy touchdowns."

Realistically.....

9-3 with losses to Bama, UNC or Miami (not both), and GT.

But to say it a third time, we have a chance in all of our games. 11-1 is very attainable (one loss being to Bama).

Until somebody else from the Coastal wins the ACC, the road to Charlotte will always go through us.

Griffer, I have that picture of Bryant statue holding the shirt if you would like it. I'm not talented enough to post them to make them big enough but I can email them to someone if they would like to do so on my behalf.

I think 8-4 is nice and is a heckuva lot better than 6-6 and scraping by into a bowl game. I think 9-3 will be a bit more realistic because out of UNC, GT, and Miami I think we will at least go 1-2 if not 2-1. The question will be can Pitt, who has notoriously played us tough, compete this year? I think 9-3 is more than obtainable and if the Hokies reach their full potential, 10-2 or 11-1 aren't out of the question.

EDIT: what fernley said above me. If you don't go into each game thinking you can win, whats the point. I think the Hokies are capable of winning each and every game on that schedule. So let's wait and see what happens. #BEATBAMA

I agree 100% with your support of Logan's Runs, but this defense will beat him up more than any other he's faced. It'll be risky to run him a lot.

If you look at each game individually the Hokies have a chance of beating anyone, including #BEATBAMA. So I choose to realistically believe they will run the table.

There's a reason why the last thing Virginia Tech football players see in the tunnel are the words: "For those who have passed, for those to come, reach for excellence." It's not about winning. Virginia Tech achieves so much more than winning football games every day. It's about upholding the values of our university. It's about remembering those names on the Pylons. It's about the names on the April 16 memorial. It's about showing the world what a Hokie truly is.

O-line inexperience, depth, and "gelling" issues are rampant in college ball, but at least our guys have an edge when dealing with this while preparing for Bama...the D that they face daily in practice is pretty good in their own right. Not every team has that luxury.

Well played. Go ahead and leave at 4:55 today. If anyone gives any trouble, you tell them to come see me.
