It all depends on who the new coaches like, honestly. It shouldn't shock any of us if Holmes ends up being a stud this year now that we've ditched the East-West pistol from last year. He very easily could be the next Darren Evans (garauntee you Evans would have struggled as an East-West guy). I know everyone is going to be clamoring to see Edmunds, just because the backup is the most popular player on the roster, but I think that all bets are off with the new staff coming in (personally). Again, I'm not trying to poo-poo Edmunds, the guy sounds like a beast. I've just never seen him run, so I can't judge wether or not I want him being the #1 back.

So, just going off what I do know (and assuming the running game will be more North-South this year), I'd give it to Holmes, with J.C. as the change-of-pace back, and reserve the right to change it should Edmunds tear ass in the Spring Game.

Lee Suggs scoring a touchdown in 27 consecutive games (more than two seasons). Still the national record.

UConn's basketball team was "slapped with a postseason ban" because of its poor academic progress, not the university's.

I very highly doubt UConn will move back to FCS because the state and university have invested in the football program (brand new stadium), and they're already accustomed to the money at the next level.

UConn is ranked 63rd in US News (which takes in a bunch of factors including academics), by comparison VT is 72nd.

They ARE an attractive academic partner for many colleges because according to Washington Monthly they spent $238 million (73rd, 2012) on research initiatives.

As for basketball, and I got this from ESPN.com, not word of mouth, they finished 10-8 in the Big East and 20-10 overall. They beat 3 ranked teams and would more than likely make the tournament this season, or at the very least be a bubble team.

Not sure it's a best all time, but this is still one of my favorite hits from one of my favorite Hokies:

I agree, JC isn't scared of the contact, but he can't run through it. The only guy on the roster that I've really seen do that is Edmunds and that was during August camp. I think Gregory is a situational player, and not an all-around back. For as much confidence as Beamer Co. had in Holmes going into last season, he didn't produce. I think Edmunds / Coleman will be the clearcut top-2 backs coming out of spring, but I'm happy to be surprised by other players stepping up.

I remember watching this live and not even realizing that A.Davis scored.

it's even sweeter that it was against WVU

This should be a one seed. I haven't been happier to see a Tech player succeed. He worked hard to get his due, well done Erick!

Congrats Erick! Hard work pays off, you have to love stories like this. I went to every home game I was in Blacksburg for just to see him play. Way to go Erick!

Tyrod scramble to a diving David Wilson for the TD. The only bright spot in that game. A highlight reel play for both of them.

Also, David Wilson being David Wilson. Backflips, catching rabbits, climbing Cassell, and eating Chick-fil-a on Sundays.
