After watching us blow late lead after late lead I thought it was me and stopped watching. Then we did it anyway, so i watched this one. At lease we won, and I can now watch without fearing I am the Jinx....
FAM!
At this point in the season, did you figure the most excited Freshmen I am watching play is actually Gurdak? I wince when Neo has the ball.
Is that in order of your preference? While some of these are quite old and things may have changed, our preference in order is:
Regent, Princess/Disney (tied), Royal Caribbean, Norwegian, Carnival
Wondering where Virgin, Celebrity, and Viking would fit into this?
Regent and Carnival are the only ones we would not do again so far. Regent was not worth the cost to us, Carnival was not that enjoyable.
We could easily be 17-3 and 6-1 in acc play and on the very good side of the bubble. If the team would be more smart in the final minute of a game

Amazing that shot was only worth 2-points.
I remember watching it live...yes, I'm that old...my dad and I just looked at each other stunned.

Had to do a Google search to remember names as it has been almost 7 years since I was there. In Cruz Bay, hit up Longboard for casual eating, great Painkiller drinks, and of course the local vibe including chickens walking around. We ate mostly in Corral Bay and it seems like most of those places have changed since we were there. Skinny Legs is still open and we had decent food there, again casual.
Recommend going to a different beach everyday. They are all different. Do the Ram Hike in the morning, as it is fairly strenuous and you will not want to be doing it in high heat. Then you can enjoy Salt Pond beach but you have to carry all your stuff 1/4 mile in to that beach also.
I came here to say just this very thing.
So glad we found a way to get a Quad 1 win on the road, but dang... We play some really poor basketball in the last couple of minutes of each game.
It's from 1980. What do you expect?
Mike Young on the Virginia Tech Sports Network after #Hokies' 76-74 win at Syracuse: "I'm proud of them. I've got really smart people. I've got a really high-IQ basketball team, and we do some of the dumbest daggone things. That just infuriates me."β David Cunningham (@therealdcunna) January 22, 2026
Thanks for sharing! Unfortunately the quality is abysmal. Looks like it was a copy of a copy of a copy of a VHS that was then sent via MMS on a 2009 flip phone and then posted on Twitter X. lol
Ben Hammond MVP
This is all worth it if we learn how to finish and get tough for our big run in March. Otherwise, it was just bad for my liver.
Enjoy this....

I thought we all knew Bobby's motivations...
I highly doubt it.

He can handle the ball in 1 on 1 offensive situations but he's not a ball handler under pressure when teams are getting handsy.
theoretically he is tall and a ball handler
Down the stretch with the lead Neo needs to be inbounding for Hammond, Bedford, Schutt with Lawal available for last second jump ball. Under no circumstances should be inbound to Neo.
"Worst year for gamefish in recorded history" is the way noted local guide Chris Newsome described this year's inshore fishing in our portion of the Chesapeake Bay. Mirrors my experiences, and my neighbor's as well. Though he and his buddy found a couple of big (40 and 44") stripers a couple of weeks ago while trying to catch an errant trout on a deep dock on the Piankatank (on a 5" swim shad), his season was the least productive he's ever had here as well. Those guys fish about 120 days a year, too, so his experience mirrors Newsome's.
As for the white bass, there used to be a solid and predictable run to the top of Claytor Lake, but those fish completely dried up and went away, making room for a solid and predictable run of New River strain walleye that reaches miles upstream. Good trade off for me, but lots of people miss those whites.
Rogersville: I have fished the river there below the power plant and its warm water discharge, but we were there for the walleye. I caught citation smallmouth, walleye, crappie, stripers, hybrids and white bass as well fishing that discharge and just below it, but from a jonboat. Lots of folks fish from the banks, however, and any run out of Cherokee Lake has to pass under the tall bridge there. The banks are lined when the crappie run, so it's a likely spot to get on whites if they're running. I caught hybrids there on chicken livers one day when my motor wouldn't start and we were stuck on the bank. I sat my rod down for a couple of minutes and heard the splash as it was hauled away into the water. I had another rod with a jig on it, so I started casting and finally hooked up with the rod, retrieved it, and a six lb hybrid was still on the liver bait. Interesting place to fish, including the chance to get taken for a Rogersville sleigh ride when you accidently (or on purpose for some folks) foul hook a huge paddlefish while casting. They don't bite, and during a short season they can be legally snagged, but they were always way too big for our light walleye tackle and I never landed one, but I sure saw a bunch of them over the several years I used to fish there. It was a 4 hour drive down from Giles and we'd leave at 3 am and get home at midnight, but I was a much younger man and could do that stuff then.
Don't see this one staying a Q1 win, but 'Cuse does have the talent. They just need to put it together. Really impressed how Gurdak and Amani were able to consistently play with four fouls each late in the second.
Heroics by Hammond, but absolutely embarrassing that we needed them. We looked so sloppy and passive in the first half. The second half looked better until the last 3 minutes (particularly the last minute).
Should Neo be playing as much as he is? His putting himself in bad positions and then jump-passing out of them is a routine for him now. Does he not have confidence? Is he getting worn down by the physicality? Whatever it is, CMY needs to get him stabilized so that he can be the bigger threat he can be.
Either way, CMY needs to figure out how to get this team to play consistent.

I watched us lose in the first half, turned it off, turned back in when we had a 9 pt lead with 2 minutes to go. Thankfully we held on.
