Cocks -- Lattimore and the defense are on point. The QB situation is interchangeably good as well. Score by two TD's
UCLA -- averaging 35+ points a game. BLOWOUT
Michigan -- This pick is stupid but I don't care.
Kansas State -- VERY UNDERRATED team. Dropped 50+ on an otherwise pourous UM Defense but I like the points.
Clemson -- FSU drubbing two crappy FCS and a recycled bottom dweller will give them too much overconfidence in this one.
Arizona -- No defense means 42 - 38 type of victory.

I'm off to a fantastic 5-13 start, so I'm abandoning all my "thoughts" and "logic" and embracing the opposite. If every Six Pick pick I've made has been wrong, then the opposite must be right.

I was looking at the lines - isn't UCLA a favorite? I don't see a minus sign above, which means you have them getting points.

My picks below are assuming Oregon St is dog. Flip mine to UCLA if Oregon St is the favorite.

South Carolina -9.5
Oregon State +7.5
Notre Dame -5.5
Oklahoma -14.5
Clemson +14.5
Arizona +23.5

Lets be honest, we all want to be in a videogame, and thats why they have all these "Road to Glory" or "Be a Pro" modes. It's sweet seeing yourself widespread in a video game.

That's a solid 0-6 pick'em right there!

I'm afraid their "pass first to set up the run" weakness will not mesh with our offensive gameplan here. Like the lunar cycle, we get this regular rebirth at VT to "establish the run" after Colossal Fail Loses (CFL's?) like last week. I gotta feeling you will see us banging our heads on the proverbial desk of BGSU's rush defense early and often. But, hey, it might work. Get Via/Benedict out there instead of Wang and we might have some success pounding it.

Of note, VT seems to have struggled a bit following CFL's in the past:
'11: Clemson followed up with a horrific defensive performance vs. Miami
'10: Boise of course followed up by JMU then followed up with another poor defensive performance vs. ECU
'09: GT loss begat the UNC loss which begat a very conservative offensive performance against ECU (I ignored the Bama loss as we played pretty well and may have gained some confidence from it)
'08: ECU loss led to a very conservative offensive game vs. Furman, BC loss begat the FSU loss which led to the Frozen Duke Game. Then we lost to Miami and almost lost to uva. I know! Almost lost to uva!
'07: LSU beatdown led to another very conservative win vs. Ohio, but we were breaking TT in as a starter. BC/Matt Ryan loss led to the best bounce back win we've seen in a while with road win @ GT...the Glennon-jersey game.

So, did we cover in any of those games? Probably not. Recent history says we don't pull it all together in a game following a CFL. At least in the Miami game last year, our offense responded.

When I look at this photo, the music from Super Mario Brothers goes through my head.

but am I the only one who didn't know what Newsome looked like until now?

doesnt happen again.
