GT won the time of possession battle, which they usually do, but our d held its own and I credit it largely to sound tackling and technique in the gaps. Only the touchdown run stood out to me as a terrible display of tackling.
on the east side did it every third and fourth down. it was happening.
But I fail to see the issue with starting the wave at halftime while the band is playing. The team isn't even on the field.
I think thats the point.
it sounds exactly like linsanity, so people will think we stole it
I wasn't at the game, so I only saw crowd shots, but was anyone even shaking their keys on 3rd? I only saw one shot of a guy doing it, everyone else was not.
Right here next to me /pats seat
Last year I was a smidge over 50% and I don't expect to be much better this year
Pssssh, and people call us felons
Joe, can you crop out everything but CPJ? That part may come in handy during an argument soon.
I hate the wave, always a distraction. It should be banned from Lane, forever. If you want to 'start something' to brag to your friends about try coming up with a one hand signal for our fan base (i.e. Texas, TCU, USC) or a (non-AV system induced) chant/tradition.
The wave is the restaurant Happy Birthday of stadiums - it interrupts everyone and distracts from the reason we ventured to the dinner/game.
I participate in defensive stands not crowd gimmicks.
(cut the paper airplane BS while your at it).
If we can't hold (our) Peay without them, then we don't deserve a win.
Sorry I had to.
Should be the only time the Wave is ever attempted (and it should be successful every time)
all of them. every single one of them. no exceptions.
can we agree that we should not be worrying about starting the wave when the game is still very much on the line? i feel like it's a distraction and, to the players, must look like we are focused on ourselves and not paying attention to the game.
the wave should be reserved for when we are up by more than 21 points in the second half, not when the game is tied 7-7 in the second quarter. i felt like an asshole shutting it down in north endzone on monday, but i feel like i kept peoples' minds on the game. thoughts?
It's $30 and you have to register on the below website. After the first couple of beers when you run out of tickets you have to buy beer but there is a discount. There's food and last year at GT they had the Hokie Bird and some of the band stop by if I remember correctly.

I got Clemson and Vandy going 2-4
hoping to recover for rest of the season
Nesbitt out with a hamstring injury and Shaw out with a concussion equals 3rd string QB in the first year in the system...not a good day
oddly enough Gardner-Webb's mascot is the 'Runnin' Bulldogs'
And furthermore, the first paragraph of this brilliant write-up should be staplegunned to the forehead of any idiot who, without good cause, happens to leave Lane Stadium one second before the clocks show all zeroes. EVER!
It's not like the offense was playing keep-away and the Bees never had the ball. GT had chances to run and the D held up.
Great game by the Hokie defensive front - seems like they will be the backbone of this team this season - very deep, very talented. The GT starting O-Line had a combined 73 starts between all of them (I think the starting LT had zero - a R-Fr. if I'm not mistaken) - 3 juniors and a senior rounding out that O-Line - one of the most experienced (if not, the most experienced) Paul Johnson has had at GT. So for our defensive front to have a solid game against that front of GT is very impressive.
Go Hokies!
crushed water bottle in my sock works everytime in every venue. this technique is the only thing that keeps me alive during a loss. i recommend one on each ankle in case we lose
Just wondering what on earth Gardner-Webb did. Looking at the details, they held GT to an average of 1.7 yards per carry. Nuts.
Where'd you get those clothes? The toilet store?
...
Why the hell didn't you guys say anything? Even the retarded guy says something! What's wrong with you?

But I spent a majority of the 4th quarter yelling at the underclassmen behind me to stop screaming "let's go!"..."Hokies!" while we were on offense and the paper airplanes get on my nerves to no end. Maybe I long for the old days but if you are a current student I ask you to educate your fellow classmates about how to keep the tradition of Lane being a dominate home field advantage.
