How on EARTH does D. Hopkins not even get an honorable mention? He has been BEAST this year. His stats are incredible, and that's playing most of the year double teamed because we lost his brother inside and were playing undersized & inexperienced at the other DT position. I would have had him 1st team, and he doesn't even get honorable mention... Sad.
David Wilson is Benton/Fenton...and the guy chasing is the opposition.

Could anyone else tell that the students didnt know how to make good signs to hold up during the game? I think it would be funny if some one could get screen shots of the different signs Boo Va students were holding up during the game
We'll open up the season with another FCS team...
The schedule on Hokiesports isn't listed chronologically. It's just a list of the opponents and they have the Atlantic Division rotations at the bottom. Obviously that's beside the point but I feel as though Wilson realizes the potential this team has, but you have to realize Tech will start 4 new offensive lineman next year...
Considering they were both 2* WRs.
Mostly, I was trying to find a non white-guy-to-white-guy comparison.
But look at Clowney's JR year #s and tell me it doesn't sound like Danny Coale.
There may have been a third. The penalty on Saturday was completely out of line. The ball was clearly recovered, the whistle had blown and Martin went in there anyway.
No team can afford that kind of play.
My head says he leaves. My heart wants him to stay. My gut says he comes back for another shot at the Heisman. I don't know why, but I just get the feeling he returns.
Danny Coale is pretty much the new Cody Grimm. I just fucking <3 both of them to death
25. Martin Scales - isn't this his third penalty on special teams? WTF is he doing?
Not to mention that he is not a pure NFL 3-down running back. I think he could definitely benefit from another year of developing his vision and one-cut move. That plus the NFL seems to be putting much less emphasis on drafting running backs early
My gut tells me he'll stay, because he wants that degree and he seems like the kind of guy who is really enjoying his college experience, but you never know when money is involved.
I also figured at least one of Ryan/Darren would have stayed, shows what I know.
Something to consider is David would be running behind a 80% new offensive line. But he'd also have some heavy Heisman buzz, as would LT I think. For the sake of the very limited run game we have behind him theoretically next year, I am hoping he stays.
our secondary is dominant. whitley exum fuller and hosley are all on there.
I know he hasnt made that many catches that year, but he has been absolutely CLUTCH for us in every game. wouldve loved to see him get an honorable mention.
I love the story behind this kid. In all intents and purposes he "should" have been playing lacrosse all four years based on his 2* rating out of High School. Nonetheless, he came to play with conviction. He absolutely shined against FSU last year and has played wthout any drop in production this year. Add him just going ahead and absolutely drop kicking the shit out of the ball Saturday to complete the Sports Utility Vehicle designation. I guarantee he'll earn a spot on sunday's.
Also Gayle is an absolute machine. He lined up against Morgan "Dumber than rocks" Moses and dominated.
I hate the BCS as much as anyone else. I don't want to see an Alabama-LSU rematch and I think there should be some sort of a playoff. It doesn't matter to me if it's a +1, or an 8 or 16 team deal. However, the BCS' job is to identify the two best teams in the country, that's it. There's no rule prohibiting the two best teams in the country from being in the same conference, or even division.
At the end of the day there's one clear cut team worthy of playing for the MNC, LSU. After that, Alabama, Oklahoma State, Stanford and Virginia Tech can all make an argument for why they're worthy of the game. I think the Tide and Pokes make the best case, and Bama's resume probably wins the argument.
I don't like that there's a scenario where to two that didn't win their conference can play for the MNC either. It's stupid, and backwards. However, blame the conferences, and the divisional setups, not the BCS. Alabama should be playing LSU for the SEC Championship, Stanford-Oregon (or USC) for the Pac-12. The divisional structures in professional sports like the NFL make sense, because all the divisional winners make the playoffs. In college football they do not.
At the end of the day if we win the ACC, and had beat Clemson in October we'd be playing for it all. Let's focus on what we can do, another ACCCG W and win in the Orange Bowl.
What about Stanford? They lost their "playoff" game. They are not in their conference championship yet are ranked ahead of the two teams that are.
The whole "the season is a playoff" thing is shot to hell if Bama gets back in. Which makes it that much more compelling to have a real playoff.
I think if you had to pick the two best teams in the country and ignored conference affiliation, you'd probably pick Bama and LSU. So in one sense the BCS will "get it right". BUT Bama already had their shot to prove they were better than LSU and lost that "playoff" game. So another team should get a chance to prove it.
It's just inherently unfair to other teams. And this is not beinga VT homer. I am not advocating for us, I am advocating against a system that basically tells teams outside the SEC that no matter what they do, they can't guarantee themselves a chance to play if ESPN wants an SEC team in. Not taking anything from Bama, they just already eliminated themselves in my mind.
I wish we had a playoff though, because then all this would be a non-issue. Bama would essentially be a wild card and not a single soul would debate that.

I think his biggest flaw is carrying the ball in traffic. He doesn't tuck it and protect it like Oglesby does. Overall he just needs to work on running between the tackles a bit better. If he can run inside like he does outside, he'll be (more) magical.
